"Overall the hotel is very good. My kids enjoy the pool, but it’s impossible to get a seat during peak hours. People tend to claim the seats earlier in the day, leaving none free for others to enjoy when they are there. We figured out toward the end of our trip to come out to the pool later in the afternoon, as it’s a little more quiet and more free seats come available that time."

"The grounds of the resort and amenities/restaurants were very nice. The staff could have been a bit more friendly. The housekeeping of the rooms was not the best. We had to call several times to get things like the sofa bed to be made or to get towels to the room. The beach itself if beautiful but it is not that relaxing as there are a lot of party and excursion boats lined along the shore. At one point the water shut off for the entire resort for about an hour. I’m not sure I’ve ever had that happen at a resort before. Also we had no snacks in our room the whole time but one of our other family members did. "

"The property overall seemed clean, our room was cleaned daily. The shower did have some moldy spots. There was an electrical outlet that was hanging out of the wall. The food was starting to taste like plastic towards the middle of the week. The buffet selection was the same every day. It would have been nice to have food carts or lunch grab and go spots around the pool so you didn’t have to go into the buffet for lunch. Drinks were plentiful and they never ran out of anything. People saving seats by the pool and never using the em was annoying. I became a member and was assigned a concierge who never helped with any of my requests. That was disappointing. I actually had two concierge representatives neither one of them were able to follow through with my request which were very simple. One was asking for extra towels and a washcloth that were never delivered. This is resort we will not revisit. "

"Overall, our stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach was disappointing given the price we paid. While some staff members were friendly and helpful, the rude interactions we experienced unfortunately overshadowed the positives and impacted our overall impression of the resort. Dining was inconsistent. At the Kyoto restaurant, we encountered a long wait and an unfriendly hostess. The restaurant also did not enforce its own dress code, allowing guests in swim shorts, flip flops, and inappropriate t-shirts, which took away from the experience. It felt like standards were inconsistent and possibly influenced by tipping. Additionally, smoking was permitted throughout the property, including inside restaurants, which was very unpleasant—cigarette and cigar smoke were frequently noticeable. The beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated that staff worked continuously to clear the sargassum seaweed. However, the pools were always crowded, and it was frustrating to see chairs reserved early in the morning but left unused for hours, with no intervention from staff. In the end, for the cost of this resort, we expected a higher level of service and consistency. Unfortunately, we would not return, as there are other resorts and destinations that offer better value and a stronger focus on guest experience. "

"The many pools are excellent, with the swim-up wet bar being the premier place to be as long as you are early enough to claim a lounge chair. The staff are all extremely friendly and will remember guests to offer friendly banter and know what you are planning on ordering. The ac in the rooms was top notch, where I had to turn it off for a bit because I was getting too cold. If you have the option to upgrade to a swim out poolside room I would suggest it."
