Independent, Shigaraki hotels

"We really loved our stay at the Blossom, it was one of the nicest hotels on our whole trip to Japan. We wish we could have used the public bath but they do not allow people with visible tattoos in it. Overall it was still worth it, as it is conveniently located, just a few train stops away from to main attractions like Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, and direct bus to Higashiyama and Gion."

"Staff was friendly, housekeeping did an excellent job. The only negative thing is that the smoking room allows too much smoke into the lobby and the laundry room. We used the laundry room and our clothes smelled of cigarette smoke. Maybe a better ventilation or air purifier would eliminate the smell of smoke"
