We arrived to check in around 18.30. Checked in ok only to be told our room was under inspection! Finally get to the room, AC unit has no front grill, curtains are hanging off the rail, net curtain was filthy and the plug socket was hanging off the wall. A maintenance man proceeds to enter our room, shocked to find someone in there. Makes some excuse about checking the bathroom then leaves. We asked to be moved and were told there would be rooms the next day, and will be on 43rd floor. Back to reception in the morning, sorry no rooms come tomorrow. Back to reception next morning with all our luggage , yes there is a room on 43rd floor, not ready yet but come back later. Get back at 15.30. sorry 43rd floor is gone so ended up on 24th. Room was ok, smaller, towel rail hanging off but by this time we can't be bothered! To be fair to the staff they did try but overall for the money we paid bitterly disappointed, it felt as if we were dumped in the only room available that no one else wanted. We booked this months in advance and a room should have been allocated not something makeshift. Needless to say we will not stay at a Meriton again.
