The newly renovated ground floor rooms are beautifully decorated and overlook the gardens at the rear of the property.
The beds are super comfy and the bathroom has a powerful shower
The food in the restaurant is very good and even cater for those with food allegies. The staff are very friendly and welcoming
The area is in a quiet village setting but yet close enough to the main arterial roads to get to yeovil and Taunton
Would definitely stay here again
Wonderful hotel. Had dinner on site and it was excellent. Service was welcoming and friendly. Definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a quality hotel with the personal touch
This was a last minute booking and it turned out to be much better than the advert suggested. The gardens are stunning. The rooms are old school but charming. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Will definitely stay again if we're in the area.
Exceptional quality from the greeting, the room, the food to check out.
The room was bright, airy and spacious with fab touches - sustainable and organic tea, coffee and hot chocolate- a fridge stocked with real milk and iced water.
Big bed, sofa, tv and full length window looking over the garden- very relaxing
Evening meal tasty and well presented by attentive friendly staff
Lovely hotel in a small village setting, possibly one of the best we’ve stayed at for a while, the room was spacious, clean and in excellent condition, everything worked, and, unusually, the shower did not leak all over the floor!!
Nice views out of the window, and a few nice local walks.
On arrival we were greated by a friendly member of staff. We were given a complimentary upgrade to the master suite. It was an excellent room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, with good quality linens. The tea and coffee making facilities were excellent with fresh milk available. The bathroom was spacious and all worked well and toiletries were good quality with a pleasant smell. We didn't have breakfast as we thought it expensive. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
All in all an excellent stay.
Lovely place. Great food.
It was clean, well ventilated and they had gone to great effort to make sure it was easy to socially distance and lots of hand sanitiser everywhere.
Quaint and cosy, lovely little village hotel. The rooms were cosy, with nice furnishings. The restaurant and breakfast were excellent, and the fireplace in the main seating area provided a lovely atmosphere.
The venue is very pretty and the room was very comfortable however I think they could benefit from a few more staff members. Struggled to find anyone to help at various times and also the restaurant menu wasnt the best. Food was abit hit and miss and several items were unavailable or they didnt seem to have enough. Lack of sausages and being served half a hash brown at breakfast with non runny poached eggs wasnt great. Would stay again but wouldnt dine here
Doesn’t live up to it’s reputation, disappointing.
Confusion over payment including the hotel taking an unauthorised payment despite already taking prepayment. Breakfast was actually only toast, fruit and cereal unless prepared to pay extra which wasn't disclosed in description when booking. Wasn’t told where breakfast would be so I wandered around eventually figuring it out as nobody on reception. On site parking is sparse and the suite was a bit disheveled overall- bathroom smelt of urine and bed throw was badly stained. Unsure how this hotel is so highly rated as overall was disappointing.
I stayed at the Farthings Hotel for 7 nights and found it a delightful spot located in the small village of Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset. I chose to have all my dinner meals at the Farthings restaurant despite the many other local options. The chef offered fresh fish (bream, sole, hake and salmon) cooked to perfection during my stay and could not resist having bream two nights in a row! The staff were friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome as a solo American traveler. The house itself was very comfortable with a quintessential English country house atmosphere. The gardens were beautiful with peacocks roaming the grounds. I loved meeting my friends there for a drink and the May weather was consistently sunny, warm and perfect to be in the garden. I left the Farthings Hotel feeling completely rested and well fed! I never did meet the chef, but I think he must be one of a kind to be able to create such a delicious variety of delicious (and healthy) meals over the course of my week-long stay, which kept me coming back for more! The Farthings Hotel is a wonderful place for a getaway.
My boyfriend and I stayed over at Farthings for two nights at the weekend, and our expectations were well exceeded. The welcoming staff, the spacious room and the brilliant food made the experience comforting and very indulgent, and the location meant our desire to escape the noise and the chaos of the city was well and truly fulfilled.
It is a beautiful hotel to which I personally feel the photos here don’t do justice, and the animals added to the charm of the countryside retreat: the food is locally sourced, and the owners have three adorable pet dogs that never failed to make us smile.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Daniel front of house lacked customer facing skills. Asked him to turn down pop music in restaurant at dinner and breakfast. Surly and grudging response. This used to be a boutique country House hotel. Sadly no longer. However food at dinner excellent. Garden well maintained. Continued loud bang of door everytime staff came from kitchen. Sad
