"Lovely rooms, pleasant surroundings, good food, busy but still relaxed atmosphere "

"Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed. Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub. Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen. Clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. "

"Had a small issue with our room i spoke to the manager and within 5 mins we were in a new room. Very friendly star lovely rooms and the food and drink was spot on "

"We enjoyed our stay for one night. The room was clean but the bed and pillows were a bit lumpy! Bathroom was clean and adequate. Breakfast was very good and parking was easy at the back of the hotel. Would definitely visit again."

"Great location and only a short walk to the centre. The added homemade shortbread biscuits in the room was a lovely treat. You can really see how much love has gone into this property and how much they care for their guests with how helpful and attentive they are. The cooked breakfast was delicious as well as the homemade butter and croissants! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit York. "

"I was staying in the property for four nights, spending most days sightseeing. For a double room it was a bit cramped, but for a single traveller on a tight budget perfectly sufficient. The room was equipped with an electric kettle and a mini-fridge, which was convenient for a few day stay. "Catherine, the owner, was the perfect hostess with nothing being too much trouble. She even texted to make sure everything was OK and to ensure she was about when I arrived. The room was clean and well provisioned. Breakfast was a full English and cooked fresh. There was also a selection of cereals and fruits. The village is about a mile away and has a convenience store, pub and Indian restaurant."

"This is the second time staying at the Camberley, last time 13 months ago. Nothing to complain about only a few little things if i was being picky. Its great to see that the rooms have been updated stayed in room 2 this time which was really nicely decorated, bright and modern, lovely comfy bed and pillows, comfortably heated not drab as room 10 was 13 months ago! Tea and coffee in room but no little biscuit this time and no artificial sweeteners either in the room or downstairs where the spares...

"Great place for a short stay. Clean & good facilities bit of confusion over payment…. Thought paid up front but hotel said not… so this is main reason for 4 not 5. Also close to late night pubs/ clubs…. So if you’re wanting to go to see early… probably not the place for you as the music can be quite loud. However, not an issue for us & slept really well. Ultimately good value for money & would stay again."

"The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful."
