"We had a wonderful stay at Appleby Castle. We were made so welcome by hosts Sally and Peter. The room was adequate for a castle. Dinner was superb, a of mix of prawn and salmon starter followed by main course of garlic chicken. The setting was the in the beautiful dining room. We were the only ones dining, and had the chef cooking solely for ourselves !! Peter played the piano as we dined. Sally could not have been nicer as we chatted. Radisson Blu Hotel, London Heathrow

4/10 Poor

"Air conditioning didn't work during 90° F heatwave and it was miserable. We had to buy a fan at a nearby grocery store because they said they didn't provide them over "health concerns." Maintenance told us the a/c didn't work because it was just an old system, so I would skip this place in the summer. Other than this pretty serious issue, it's pretty average. Generally bad views of other parts of the building or the McDonald's drive-thru. Workout room is nice. Staff is generally nice."

"We booked both rooms with Tower Bridge view but only got one with the view, when asked the staff said that Family Rooms has never had the bridge view so I dont know why they advertised it. The staff were really helpful though. But the cleanliness was below average, very old furnitures, no fridge in any of the rooms, NO Air conditioner and when asked we were provided with small table fans in each room. The Bathroom had no basic amenities at all, over all it was a disappointment. Other than the spot they are in, our experience was pretty much not as we desired. We had really high hopes."

"This is second time I have stayed at this hotel and it does not disappoint. Staff are excellent and do friendly. Food is great, especially the restaurant at night. We paid for executive room and the view was amazing. Only thing that I can say is, it was disappointing to not have access to the executive lounge and then to find out this lounge is only available between 9-5. And still needs to pay extra for. All and all I would still highly recommend and would definitely go back."

"Clean room, excellent service staff, USB outlets and AC power doesn't work, except if using UK plugs. Alarm clock dysfunctional. Air Conditioning stuck on 23° Celsius. Had to borrow or pay €10 for UK to US converter. Thankfully they loaned me the converter. Just came in 8:45pm and left 5:30am for next day flight. Service is excellent."

"The hotel is very centrally located and in a great spot near a lot of shops, theatres, and restaurants. While the service leaves something to be desired, as you have to check in and get your own room keys on a self-service tablet that is not very customer-friendly, and they do not clean the rooms during your stay. If you want towels, you will have to ask the person in the lobby, and the trash does not get taken out. The room itself was fine, very minimal, but it was clean and had everything you might need. The issue is the toilet. The "room" with the toilet is encased in glass that is frosted. This does not leave any privacy from the rest of the room, and everything can be clearly heard from the toilet to the rest of the room. This hotel is great if you are looking for a fairly reasonably priced room that is centrally located and has the bare necessities and nothing else."
