Sitting on the southern banks of the Qiantang River, Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) is China’s tenth busiest airport, serving the city of Hangzhou. It is quite a new airport that opened in December 2010 to replace the old Hangzhou Jianqiao Airport. Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) has two terminal buildings that can handle 8,500 passengers per hour, or over 32 million passengers per year. Over 40 airlines utilise the airport, offering flights to around 95 destinations both in China and abroad.
Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) handles flights to over 50 domestic destinations including Lhasa, Beijing, Chengdu, Taiyuan and Xiamen. Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Singapore, Bangkok and Doha are just some of the international destinations that the airport serves.
There are two terminals at Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH); one for domestic travel and one for international destinations. Combined, the airport has an area of 292,000 square metres with facilities that include 2,900 waiting room seats, ATMs, pay telephones and free Wi-Fi. There are also currency exchange booths and a hair salon in the international terminal. Business travellers will find a business centre near Gate 4, as well as at the ZTG Grand Hotel Airport Hangzhou.Restaurants and Bars
There are places to eat in both the domestic and international terminals of the airport, and in both arrivals and departures halls. Most are fast food counters with seating, though there are also a couple of full-service restaurants and coffee shops at the Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH).Shopping
Duty-free shops can be found in the international terminal selling name brands for great low prices, as well as alcohol, cigarettes cosmetics and other typical duty-free products. There are souvenir shops and convenience stores in both terminal buildings, but Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) is not a big shopping airport in comparison to others in the country.
