Affordable hotel and great location within walking distance from great tourists spots. The hotel is a bit outdated and it smelled a bit like cigarettes.

Pretty disappointed in the condition in and around the hotel a big homeless population surrounding the building, inconvenient unless you are going to the night market there isn’t much in walking distance, most of the staff are super sweet but some don’t give you the time of day.

Best hotel in Bangkok. Easily a 10/10. Great service, food, pool, and rooms. My room even had a relaxing tub which I really like. For only around 900 baht per night, you can't beat it. We were steps away from The Queen's birthday celebration party, so it was very nice to be close for once to all the action in Bangkok. Also, Khao San Road is 5 minutes walk, so there's your nightlife option. I felt very at ease and relaxed at this hotel, so I had to book for a second night to enjoy it further. So this is the second part of my booking, as I rebooked another night. Also, to help me do so, the Front Desk staff was very helpful.

There were multiple items that insured we will never return. The first item was our treatment be the desk staff. NEVER have I been treated so poorly by the desk staff. I had multiple contacts with the staff that were, (RUDE). MY questions were repeatedly, either ignored of rebuffed. Something as simple as a request for my bill, (I was told I could not get it until the last day at checkout) was almost impossible to get. The facilities were in poor shape. From leaking pipes to dirty rooms. This should be unacceptable at any hotel. There are more items, but suffice to say, “don’t spend your money and stay here”.

Roaches heaven. Told the staffs to spray the room but unsuccessful . Homeless all around the property. Front desk totally useless. Breakfast is fair but coffee was undrinkable. Hospitality at breakfast is terrible. We step in one minute late and got turn away. Breakfast ends at 9:30 am instread of 10 am like most hotel and the woman at the host desk for breakfast act bery rude. I must say the cleaning crew is very good. They work hard. This hotel need somebody to manage. It is ashamed that it is a such historic place in the past. If it is not because it is closed to a few places that we wanted to see , we would have check out after we check in. One more We need to ask for top sheet on the bed. ???? Ever heard of it? No go for everybody.

In the centre, good location, accessible by public transport. Decent sized rooms, however the inside could do with a refurbishment such as the furniture and paint. The actual structure and flooring are still very good.

Last stay after 30 years.

Have been coming here for 30 year and sadly watched it deteriorate. Now a shabby and well worn hotel. Double room with tatty furniture and one stool for seating and plain wooden flooring. We won't be coming back.

Worst hotel I’ve stayed in!!

The staff at the front desk were very ungrateful and were very snotty when we asked them anything. The other staff were excellent, but first impressions were not. Total hotel was in terrible shape, old and dirty.

Staff extremely nice and helpful. Nice area with a public transport around. Room would benefit with refreshing. Bed mattress need to be replaced as they were not comfortable at all. Swimming pool open only until 6pm, which makes it useless for us. Over all very pleased stay (thanks to hotel staff).

Do NOT stay here (Feb 2025), read all the recent reviews there are known issues and problems. Find a different place to stay. Do you want to wake up with a bedbug crawling on your bed? I didn't think so. There are also cockroaches, baby ones. I had to be changed room twice, for a three night stay. So disgusted I had to leave after the second night and get another hotel, so double the cost for that night. I only stayed here because of friends staying here and planned a tour, so it seemed convenient. -Local people recommend it, probably because of the hotel's former glory, it has marble floors after all... Advertises as 4 star hotel, should be 0 star. CONS: -Very busy, loud street, with lots of vagrant people right outside, it smells of urine and if you want ot go anywhere walking, you will have to zig zag around them. There are free meals for them close to the side of the property. -No restaurants or attractions within walking distance without walking through dark, smelly sidewalks. -Hotel was build in the 1940s, seems very little work since then. -Check in: short tempered receptionist saying loudly "sign here", without giving you time to read. -Massive cell phone tower next to hotel (south). -Lots of moskitoes inside the hotel, and in the rooms. -Only one card key per room, two people? you will have to synchronize your timings. -Rooms dated. Minor renovations. -Mold, cockroaches, bedbugs, moskitoes. -Bathroom disgususting -Carpets filthy. GOOD: Hot water, water pressure.

Okay for the money.

Reception staff need training on how to welcome guests, no smile or welcome to our hotel! Room was okay, I only used it as a base. Excellent location for Kho san Road and other places of interest. Enjoyed the pool area in an afternoon.
