"My husband and I stayed here when we went to the Mirvish theatre. We come to Toronto often for the theatre, at least 4-5 times a year, and the hotel we always stay at had raised their prices more than double what we usually pay. We noticed all the hotels in the area of the train station and downtown had done the same, because of the FIFA Cup, which is not coming until June, and we were booking in April!! This Holiday Inn had the most reasonable & cheapest price ( $310). And the breakfast buffet was included! It was excellent with lots of choices, fruit, yogurt, cereals, toast, croissants, muffins, and an assortment of hot choices, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. Plus they brought you a thermos of hot coffee to your table. We are coming back again the end of May, and the price of our previous “regular” hotel (Novotel) will jump to $1100 a night then. This Holiday Inn will also jump to over $500 a night.. so beware, if you are coming to Toronto anytime now before June’s Fifa Cup, everything costs way more, restaurants, taxis, hotels etc.
However, if prices go back to normal afterwards, this hotel is great, walkable to theatre & lots of restaurants, rooms are small ( especially bathroom), but all is very clean, beds & pillows are awesome, shower is great, has soap, shampoo & conditioner dispensers, also beside sink there are soap & body lotion dispensers, rare in most hotels. There is a fridge, big closet, and amenities desk with 2 bottles of water & coffee. We would come back."
