I was frauded out of $1500 because I would not reach anyone to get a check in. Avoid this place at all costs . Google this place and read the reviews .

Kensington Boutique is nicely located in a vibrant a lively area. It is within 30 mins walking distance from most place we wanted to see during our stay. We were staying at their unit on the ground floor. It is pretty dark but ok. And maybe with a dew cockroaches too many. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was that we had book for 5 people and they did not provide bed linen for the sofa bed; and one set of towels was missing. We contacted them, they said they would inform the relevant team but we never heard back from anhyone.

At our time of arrival, I had called about check in details when we were close by, and was only then informed that our unit we had paid for was undergoing maintenance and was not available for our use. We had been moved to 14 york street, a 40 minute walk in the opposite direction. Finally upon arrival to our new unit, we only had 2 double beds, a sofa bed and 1 queen bed. Our original booking was for 3 queen beds, 2 twins and a sofa bed resulting in one of our guests having to sleep on the floor and others doubling up when they had not originally wanted to do that just to have a place to rest. The place was substantially smaller in size and was not very well taken care of.. it was not up to our standards in cleanliness and accommodations. The property owner is unwilling to refund anything and I have been fighting this, I do not recommend staying with Kensington Boutique Suites.

Disappointing Toronto Stay

My recent stay in Toronto was unfortunately marred by numerous issues. The first hiccup occurred when check-in details were only provided after an unexpected deposit payment request via an unclear link on the day of arrival. To add to the frustration, the check-in time was unexpectedly shifted from the advertised 4pm to 5pm. The check-in process itself was a baffling experience with a lockbox filled with an array of keys, necessitating several attempts to find the right one. The apartment's thin walls made it easy for noise from other guests to intrude, and an unexplained late-night call from the management only disrupted the peace further. The apartment's condition was disappointing. It showed signs of neglect with water damage around the windows, stained floors and towels, and a shower design that caused frequent bathroom flooding. A significant drawback was the non-functional bedroom outlets, posing a considerable inconvenience. Despite these drawbacks, the apartment did have its merits. It was spacious and featured a fully equipped kitchen, which was a plus. However, its location behind an alley frequented by late-night gatherings was less than ideal and detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. On my departure day, I received multiple emails from the management team, requesting deposit confirmation. This, coupled with their failure to address my query about the late-night call, added to the dissatisfaction.

USER BEWARE: This is NOT as pictured, and obviously hastily renovated and poorly managed - this is a picture from another property, and the side lights (and ALL OUTLETS in BOTH bedrooms) did not work. It was necessary to leave our phones in the living room to charge them. There was also no door knob on the inside of the door, so to exit, you had to struggle with pulling the lock instead. There was also no shower stall or tub, merely a cheap shower curtain around the shower head and a drain on the floor, so water went all over the bathroom floor and we were forced to stand in the cold water while using the toilet and sink after any shower. The shampoo was also unusable because the pump was broken and not replaced prior to our arrival. There was dish soap instead of hand soap in the hand soap dispenser. Not only that, but the place was not cleaned and ready for us at check in, even though we arrived at 5:25pm and they claim check in is at 4. We were forced to sit outdoors while their cleaning crew did a hasty job, and there were still sticky bootprints on the bedroom floor after. We were forced to buy slippers just to walk around inside. The place was also not heated initially, so we were freezing until we complained. The garage door also opened and closed repeatedly for hours, making noise and making it hard to park. Also internet issues. Horrific experience. Still waiting to get my deposit back, though we left the place cleaner than we got it. BEWARE

The property is in China Town and in the middle of Kensington Market. It was a unique location. The apartment was safe and secure so no worries there.

Ugly area to stay

Don't go there unless you like a dirty alleyway full of ugly graffiti in a cheesy neighborhood. They bedroom picture looks nice but the area sucks. The management is also inflexible about keeping your money, so watch out.
