"We didn’t have breakfast or use the bar. Everything was great. Only small issue (and wasn’t a big problem) was it took a while to check in but I was dealt with quickly and in a very friendly manner once it was my turn."

"This was my 4th stay at The Clayton, as always it was perfect. Had an evening meal the night before I flew on holiday and also stayed the evening I came back. The evening meal was really lovely, especially the soup. My room was comfortable and clean and well stocked, the bed was very comfortable. On my return after my holiday I checked in approx 10pm. Yet again the room was comfortable, but I did notice that some of the drinks server's spent quite a bit of time on their phones, no one came to ask if I wanted a drink, I had to go to the bar and ask, it wasn't busy in fact it was pretty quiet. The breakfast is buffet style and was lovely, with juice, coffee, tea, bacon etc. I have already booked to stay again in October and I will be booking again to stay again next March, I won't stay anywhere else. And also a big shout out to the shuttle drivers who heave our heavy cases with a smile. Thank you Clayton Hotel staff, you make my stay pleasurable. "

"Air conditioning is not working, just the blower goes on and off for the whole stay, had very disturbed sleep for 2 nights because of the hot rooms. They provided a fan in our which was not working properly. Shampoo container was empty. Only 1 lift was working had to wait longer for those."

"Unfortunately this hotel was not what the photos highlighted. I appreciate it is an old building but it was very worn. The reception area was cold and the man on reception was only concerned about the wedding guest that were staying. Not helpful at all. Food was overpriced in the bar area. Cold dark and dingy is the only way to describe this place."
