"Great location near Monteverde—close to hiking and nature, yet peaceful and private. One morning we even spotted green parrots from the back of the home, which was a lovely surprise. "When we arrived the host said he did not have our reservation. The gate was locked. The number on the listing was not an accurate number. It took messaging Expedia to get a new number and the owner did not answer that number. He did respond to Expedia and finally reached out on WhatsApp. They came and cleaned while we were waiting to enter. The pictures on the listing are from probably 10 years ago - the home needs some repairs and maintenance. Faucets are loose, no hot water in the downstairs...

"Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!"
