Extremely clean and welcoming place! Service is top notch.
One small thing to note that it is almost impossible to walk here from Gora. Although Google shows a potentially flat path, it is down a very steep and long winding steps that was very dangerous.
Do yourself a favor and please wait for the shuttle bus provided by the hotel. You can either wait for the timed one at Odawara or call the hotel for a pickup once you are at Gora.
Otherwise 10/10 place for me.

I am grateful to the service rendered by Nitta Teruo san and his team at the hotel. I had lost a hairline at the onsen area and thought I would never get it back. The hair clip, though small, was used by me since my pregnancy and had sentimental value. Teruo san went above and beyond to send the hair clip back to my next hotel in Tokyo. I really appreciate the team for going the extra mile to make our stay at the hotel a pleasant one. The hotel was huge and and the onsen was simply lovely. We...

The views were truly stunning. The landscaping of the hotel is so beautifully designed and maintained, it’s like staying in a fairy tale.
Staff were friendly and attentive, particularly at breakfast.
One small annoyance which I couldn’t understand was why they limited each room to only 2 access cards. There were 3 of us staying in the room and that caused us some inconvenience.
Otherwise an excellent stay.

We really enjoyed our stay in Matsuzakaya Honten! The staff were very hospitable, accommodating and helpful, and the ryokan was very clean and modern, while still retaining its historical charm. We marveled at how it was like staying in a museum, a slice of history, just because of how beautifully preserved everything was.
Special shoutout to Ridhan, Hema and the front desk staff (a friendly thai lady with front bangs - apologies, we didn’t manage to get your name!) who were excellent and kind...

The staff at the property were attentive and polite. We could not have been more impressed. At dinner, even though I had not informed them that my mother cannot eat beef, the manager immediately scrambled to find a replacement course for her.
The view of our room was gorgeous and even the clouds and rain did not dampen our spirits!

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel has a really convenient location being right next to the Yumoto Hakone Station. It is worth booking the private onsen for convenience. We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast served are the same. But since it is buffet style, I guess you can vary what you eat each day. Do get the 2 or 3 days Hakone Free pass as it covers all your transportation by bus, train or cruise. Do take the cruise in Lake Ashi and catch the majestic sight of Mr Fuji. A beautiful hotel overlooking Lake Ashi. It's conveniently located next to Hakone-machi port where the pirate ship stops. The room we stayed in was spacious with a bathtub and had an excellent view of the lake. Although Mt Fuji was not visible due to cloudy weather, we still had breathtaking views of the other mountains across the lake. There are two hot springs in the hotel for guests. The hotel also has drinks for guests at the lounge in the morning and evening.
