"Island Colony was a great place to stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with cookware, toiletries, towels, and even beach chairs and a backpack cooler. I loved the patio view and enjoyed relaxing out there. The pool, hot tub and sauna were clean and relaxing, and security felt solid. The only downside was parking -- the kiosk instructions are confusing, and you have to use separate elevators for the garage and rooms. Definitely ask staff for help the first time. I'd...

Waikiki

This iconic beach district blends Hawaiian culture with resort amenities along golden shores. Diamond Head crater looms majestically over Waikiki Beach where surfers catch waves beneath swaying palms. The bronze Duke Kahanamoku statue watches over a beachfront bustling with outrigger canoes and sunbathers. Stroll Kalakaua Avenue to discover everything from luxury boutiques to local surf shops. The area boasts excellent walkability with abundant dining options ranging from casual poke bowls to upscale oceanfront restaurants. Cultural performances and live Hawaiian music create an authentic island atmosphere despite the tourist-centered environment.

City centre Honolulu blends business energy with rich Hawaiian heritage in this dynamic district. The only royal palace on US soil, Iolani Palace, stands amid gleaming corporate towers and historic buildings. Chinatown's vibrant streets buzz with herb shops, lei vendors, and authentic Asian eateries. The area showcases Hawaii's cultural fusion through its Victorian architecture and coral stone structures like Kawaiahao Church. King Kamehameha's statue and the State Capitol's volcanic cone design tell stories of the islands' past. Visitors can easily explore on foot or catch TheBus to nearby Waikiki Beach.

Ala Moana

Ala Moana blends shopping paradise with beach relaxation in Honolulu. The world-famous Ala Moana Centre buzzes with hundreds of shops and cultural performances. Magic Island's protected lagoon offers calm swimming waters alongside the golden sands of Ala Moana Beach Park. Stroll the waterfront promenade for spectacular ocean views and breathtaking sunsets. The area features upscale hotels with direct beach access and numerous dining options. Kapahulu Avenue features local plate lunch shops and family-run Hawaiian eateries serving authentic island cuisine. The neighborhood's tree-lined streets and tropical landscaping create a lush environment away from Waikiki's tourist crowds.

Kaimuki

Kaimuki offers a charming escape from Honolulu's tourist crowds. This hip area blends vintage shopfronts with innovative eateries along bustling Waialae Avenue. Diamond Head State Monument sits just minutes away, providing dramatic views for outdoor enthusiasts. The area showcases Hawaii's multicultural heritage through Japanese-Hawaiian fusion cuisine and artisanal coffee shops. Colourful murals decorate the streets between family-run plate lunch counters. Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Waikiki

10/10 Excellent
"Stay at this property! Seriously — it’s one of the best and most affordable options in Waikiki. I describe it as staying at an “off-property Disney hotel.” 😂 You can literally walk across the street to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and enjoy all the action, restaurants, beach, and Friday night fireworks — but save a ton of money by staying at the Ramada. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. It was also surprisingly quiet at night, which I really appreciated. If you rent a car, parking is only $30 a night, which is an absolute STEAL for Waikiki. And DO NOT sleep on the Country Market/ABC Store! We ate there several times and saved so much money compared with eating every meal at a restaurant. They have tons of food options, snacks, drinks, and even Dole Whips for only $3.99! Another money-saving tip: there’s a water machine on Level 2, so we just kept refilling our water bottles instead of constantly buying bottled water. The hotel also has laundry facilities, a gym, and a pool. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay in Waikiki where you can easily walk to the beach and all the action without paying resort prices, stay here. I absolutely would again. The staff is amazing."
