Loved this Hotel and Staff!

"We loved this hotel so much. The people running the hotel are all so kind and personable. There is a slight language barrier but it was not a problem at all. The room was a great size and very comfortable. The breakfast was great and offered to every guest. You can also purchase a dinner. If you want an authentic traditional style hotel this is the place! We loved the men and women’s onsen. The hotel is set in a gully out of the city next to a river. You can take a bus to the main city or the hotel also offers a shuttle to the train station or other specific locations. If we return to Japan we would definitely make this one of our stops again! "

Nice place in Arashiyama

"Good wifi. It's pretty convenient to train and bus lines (the 28 City bus picks up across the street and the Hankyu train line is around the corner) and it's about 10 minutes from the bridge. Note: the breakfast is served at a cafe around the corner, but only from 9-11, so you may need to schedule your day accordingly (or don't sign up for breakfast and plan on eating elsewhere). A lot of restaurants in Arashiyama close pretty early (the izakaya next door stays open for normal dinner hours, but the highly recommended sushi place closes at 5 pm). Clean rooms. Front desk is open for check-in until 9pm, but then you get a code for the front door and for your room. "
