"As a foreigner who lives in China, the check-in was very frustrating. I have a resident visa and use e-channel at the airport so I do not get stamps in my passport. I explained this to them in English and Mandarin and they would not listen to me. They didn’t understand e-channel but also would not listen to my explanation. At one point there were 4 staff members searching through my passport for the last entry stamp after I had told them the date of my last entry and that they wouldn’t find a stamp. Finally, they gave up (15 minutes later) and thanked me for teaching them something new. It was infuriating. HOWEVER, the room was excellent, the bed, fluffy towels, pillows, shower, everything was great! And I would stay again! Just train your staff on better check-in procedures for foreigners."

"I loved the traditional architecture of this hotel which stands out from the rest. Ambience is very relaxing and fits in nicely with the traditional vibe of Suzhou, it has a lovely garden to stroll in and even interesting cultural artifacts on display around the corridors. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is also very clean, comfortable and spacious. But the taste of the food at breakfast and the noodle restaurant weren't the best."

"First time in china and this was a solid choice. The train station was 10ish minutes walking distance. The goat noodle restaurant was delicious and highly recommend. Perfect base to leave your things and explore."
