"We went in low season so there were only a few guests. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast had a number of choices, but was only average. The pool was great; however, it did close at 6 p.m. Overall, I enjoyed the stay."

"Very friendly staff. Front desk workers were always so accommodating and helpful. Everyone on the property spoke both English and Spanish, so it was very easy to communicate with staff. The restaurants were always well staffed and offered delicious options. The parking lot attendant was very friendly and they guard your car 24/7. Never once felt unsafe on this resort. The semi-private beach was also beautiful. Thank you for the hospitality! "

"We first visited Playa Negra in 1999. We are so pleased to say that nothing has changed! We love the rustic feel of the Round thatched roof cabins and how close they are to the beach. "We arrived to the property but there was no one at the hotel, the lounge, bar and restaurant were close and deserted. Pool was durty, so we decided no to stay at the place because we also felt unsafe. Worst experience ever, I don't understand how EXPEDIA offers this hotel."

"We had to leave a day early. There was construction going on next to us which we were not told about ahead of time. They are building more bungalows. Between the open netting at the ceiling and windows without curtains, it was noisy and we had no privacy. In addition we waited 15 minutes and didn’t get hot water for the shower the last two mornings we were there. The beach was not walking distance as advertised.
