On our third night we were not allowed to use a dining room table to eat a sandwich. The employee told us that he did not authorize us and began to move our belongings from one place to another without our authorization in a rude manner. Finally, we ate outside (balcony) with drizzle, cold, thunder and lightning. Very unpleasant experience in this hotel with employees who logically do not know what it means to work in this industry.

Good morning, we are sorry to read your comment regarding only a last experience where there is clearly a misunderstanding: it is not possible to enter the breakfast room to have dinner, but our employee even let you stay in the balcony of the same brerakfast room where nobody could go if it is not during breakfast time.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The building was a little dated and you have to take a bus or subway to see stuff. The breakfast was not really substantial: just a roll and a few crackers with tea or coffee.

This is not a negative review as much as it is an honest review. The staff was friendly and nice although she had a hard time finding change for a 50euro. The rooms were clean but very dated. Beds were uncomfortable, showers leaked so badly we ran it at half pressure so we didn’t soak the walls. No sink in bathroom, the lighting was flickery and sometime took a couple tries to get turned on. Found a big ugly bug but quickly squashed it. It was the last we saw. Kind of hard find the entrance. For the price we paid it seems reasonable to make a few upgrades

Basic but Fine!
This place is perfect if you're looking for a functional but cheap place to stay. Close to a metro stop it's very quick into the centre and about 20 min walk from the main train station which has direct trains to Fiumicino airport. It's by no means a 5* hotel, everything is very basic, but if you're just looking for a clean, easy place to stay, then it's absolutely perfect!

Simple and basic - with a smile.
Get what you pay for. Wifi did not work in the room, and restroom was cramped. But the staff are at the reception 24/7 and always helpful. Location was good for me, had supermarket across road, and 5 minute walk to Metro (3 stops into Termini).

Staff great/Room needs some love
Hard to find, very hard to find parking, room needs a lot of love. Sight stated laundry on sight, it was located blocks away, nothing on site. Rooms are very minimal in furnishings. 2 outlet in the room, one used by the frig. Breakfast had very limited selections. Not a bad stay, but not sure if I would stay again.

Clean Hotel and helpfful staff!
Very clean and there is room service everyday. It isn't walk able to the main attraction but it's only 5-10 mins on the metro which I found to be ideal as it's more peaceful where I stayed. The touristy places were a little loud and cramped at peak times so this was ideal and the metro is super cheap. It's great location for sight seeing and even for hopping to the next city as the main termini is only 2 metro stops away.

Room is very basic. Quite a long walk to Bologna Metro . I will not recommend it to anybody.

My stay there was wonderful and happy I have to say is not a 3 stars hotel by my rate because even I wouldn't call it a hotel but the staff and rooms are brilliant for the staff and comfortable for the rooms. I recommend this place plus the location is really good. 😊

Closed to the hot points (transport, tourism)
Really nice, i would recommend to anyone. Helpful and kindness for all of the staff, complete breakfast, flexibility and suitable for tourist or people that visit Rome on the run, 10-15 min walking to Termini central station. Located in a crowdy area (universities), however, it's a pretty good deal, with quiteness and lots of places for get food nearly at any hour, even at night time.

Very convenient
The hotel staff is great especially the guys who work there. They are very polite and helpful. Hotel is in a very safe area close enough to the metro and buses. You cannot go wrong with their breakfast. My only downside was the comfort of the bed, although the linen is clean. Also the shower is pretty small but you get value for your money. I would stay again!!

Not much to say.. poor experince
On arrival no lift working. Was aware of this issue from a previous review and noted that the lift was out of order ! No proper information about the room service and what is where. Went to the our room, and found you could not lock the bathroom. I was with my family imagine suddenly walking into the bathroom! Asked the staff about this who seemed to brush it aside and abruptly told me that I should have opted for more expensive hotel or a better hotel! At breakfast some items of food seemed to finished and when we asked , the reply you are too late they are finished.. eg boiled eggs. Overall poor service and wont be going again.

Nice budget hotel
A good experience in a small but adequate room. The shower cubicle is so small that a big person would find it hard to use, but I am normal sized so I had no problems. The room was extremely clean, the personnel friendly, and I found that I had everything I needed. There was no desk though, only a bed, a cupboard, a bedside table, and washing facilities, The Wifi worked well most of the time but tended to slow down at night. There's TV and air conditioning.

Decent value, good breakfast.
Friendly, helpful front desk. Nice lounge, above average breakfast included. Single room was small, but good shower, and sink included. I would recommend for a couple nights. Nice neighbourhood, close to some music venues, and the bus station.

Small nice little hotel.
Small little hotel in A nice area. Very close to the metro stations about a 10 minute walk and bus stops all over. You get what you pay for so you can't expect much. Very clean hotel they made sure everything was clean and the staff was very nice and friendly. The only thing that I did not like is that there was no air conditioning in the room. You also have to pay a $4 euro tax fee at the end of your stay.

Perfection in a bag
Great place to stay 20 minutes walk to central Rome myself, wife and 4 year old had a lovely place to lay our heads for our 10 nights away, will be staying there next time. Breakfast was a good variation of continental and the staff were very accomoodating to ill Italian vocabularies from trying Welsh people, thanks for their assistance in teaching my son the pleasantries of the Italian language, all the best.

The hotel is in a nice quiet area which appears local and is about 20 minutes away from the city centre by taxi-which can eventually become pricey as we were there for 6 nights. I suggest the metro which is far cheaper and takes you straight to many of the tourist sites, for example the Coliseum. The staff were helpful when it came to calling a taxi when needed, as well as guiding us towards the closest metro station (which is 'Bologna'). However, when we first entered our given hotel room it appeared very different from what we saw in the picture: For a "family room" there was hardly any mobility, the beds were very close together-one of the beds were a foldable bed and gave myself back pains the entirety we were there, we had to often swap who slept on it every night. It didn't help that the air conditioning-which was situated directly above the foldable bed- leaked every night. The dripping was loud, thus got irritating. The facilities which were provided with the hotel were an advantage though. The bathroom was very clean. The cleaning staff were excellent as they provided us with clean towels every day, cleaned the room and changed the bins. Moreover, the room has a working fridge and tv (which we eventually got to work but had nothing of interest on it as it was all in Italian). The breakfast was nice and had a good variety. Any problems we had the staff tried to respond quick, we even got offered new rooms (separate) due to the AC, but decided to stay where we were.

The woman at the front desk was very accommodating, but the male who worked in the evening was extremely rude. He began yelling at my friend and I and refused to listen to reason or compromise for quite some time before I managed to calm him down. It is not my job to deal with his anger issues, but I had to do so because I was afraid he might trash the room or steal from me later. I'm glad that I only ran into him the night before I checked out. The breakfast was decent, and the room was clean, but it was so hot and stuffy.

Stayed in single room. Staff were very friendly and nice. Breakfast each morning was excellent with variety, even eggs, salami, toaster, coffee maker, pastries. The best breakfast by far of all hotels I stayed at. The downside was the single room I had had very, very thin walls and I could hear very loud noises and laughter. Unsure if it was uni students or guests. Very noisy and I was not able to rest. Wish I had another quieter room. Ask for quiet room. Staff and hotel in all other ways good. Kind girls at reception.

Short trip to Rome
Location of hotel is great, close enough to the downtown. Rooms' quality might vary, but for this price I can't complain. Some of the staff are really very nice, some of them are not as nice. The breakfast is disappointing, I wouldn't call it breakfast. Wi-fi was available in our room in very good quality.

Directions to hotel from Termini station proved sound and although 20 minutes + to walk I found hotel without difficulty despite evening darkness. Room was clean and functional except for TV, quiet and undisturbed at night. Once I mastered public transport found closer route by tram. Value for money.

Athena Hotel is brilliant!
Athena hotel was truly a great choice, from the location to its staff, my family and I had a brilliant stay for seven nights. The hotel has so many shops near buy so you won't go hungry and has great links to the main hub, Termini Station. We walked there everyday and it took us about fifteen mins. The staff were amazing, in particular the two female members of the team, but all staff were helpful! Our hot water wasn't working for a bit and one of the staff immediately issued another room to have a shower in, the service is brilliant! Our room was clean and it had air con and a TV, both worked. The breakfast was delicious with a wide range of foods available. Our experience as a family was really good and we found it hard to fault the hotel. It was brilliant!
