  • Last night we went to a Taoist Temple in Taipei. You can see in the close up picture of people praying how they receive and answer immediately from the prayers. After kneeling and bowing, you throw two "stones" onto the floor. They are both crescent shaped with a sun and a moon side. If they end up both on one side, the answer is NO. If they end up both on the other side, the answer is maybe, or not enough information. If the end up like a ying and a yang, then the answer is YES. I took a moment to pray, asked my question and got a ying and a yang out of the throw. The belief is, that the result comes from within your own heart.

應該是疫情期間住宿客較少，早餐已未開放B-one自助餐廳多時，僅於TOSCANA 義大利餐廳提供，雖然用餐環境不錯，但餐飲內容較為簡單。另似乎是有人包場，20樓休閒設施均已「維修」名義暫停開放，可惜了。但以目前的價格而言，仍是來台北短期差旅很好的選擇。

Service and accommodation terrible.

Breakfast service extremely poor. We need to keep on asking for cutleries and food. There is only a few tables but the service doesn't feel like a five star hotel. The thermostat in the room was inverted (fan speed 3 is actually fan speed 1) and we were not informed of this. The charging ports and lamps were switched off if a specific light is turned off. Overall, the service and accommodation is not of a quality of a 5 star hotel.

The hotel is charming if but a little quaint. How many hotels these days would hand you an actual metal room key instead of a card key? I am not sure forcing guests to carry around a metal key plus keychain is a good idea in these pandemic times! I am pretty sure these have not been carefully wiped clean with alcohol. Also, there does not seem to be any way to totally turn off the air-conditioning. This is decidedly both annoying as well as not particularly healthy.
