Aqua Vista Resort Hotel

"First off, this hotel was not nearly as bad as some of the terrible reviews make it out to be. It's okay -- just don't expect the Ritz-Carlton. The good: You can't beat the location. It's right on the boardwalk and just minutes from the pier, The hotel was mostly clean, no bugs, cold air-conditioning, comfortable beds, and hot water. These are the most important factors for me when staying at the beach. There is coffee available in the lobby. The okay: We always had a place to park. The parking lot for the Aqua Vista is about half a block west from the hotel. However, we were not there during the peak of peak season. The parking slots are really tight and I can imagine there being issues finding a space during the worst of the worst of the summer. The bad: Housekeeping is really spotty. There were a couple of days where it felt like a battle to get my trash emptied and towels changed. On one day they were not changed at all despite multiple requests. We eventually got towels delivered after being told that there were no towels and they were in the wash. Note to management: Buy more towels. Seriously! Towels shouldn't be in short supply, especially at an ocean front hotel. I will say that I think it is a luck of the draw when it comes to room quality. When we first arrived, we were given a room that didn't have the linens replaced on the beds. The room we were moved to was much nicer than the first (same category)."

"We were on the 16th floor and the fire alarm went off at 2am for no reason!! People on the lower floors said there was something on the intercom stating everyone needed to evacuate the building, but there is no intercom system where we were! All of us in the 16th floor were looking at each other confused because we didn’t know what was going on and no one to answer the front desk phone, so down 16 flights of stairs we went to find that something was just wrong with the alarm and they had no idea why it was going off! If there were a real fire, this issue is very concerning because we had no idea what was going on and no intercom or staff going around to ensure people were up and safe! Other than this hiccup, the hotel was great! Staff were friendly and they cleaned the room daily!!"

"The two separate bedroom set up was a great surprise. The easy access to the parking was perfect from our 5th floor room. Would definitely request that room again. The walls are VERY thin and we could hear full discussions of the room next to us."

"Hot tub was amazing. Nice view but small balcony. Water pressure excellent. No breakfast but we didn't need it. Fullsize beds but my husband baby and I fit ok in bed while other 2 kids on another. Beds were comfy and AC worked great."

"We had a great stay but our freezer was broke and noisy, the hotel room floor was swept but hadn’t been mopped in a long long time our feet were immediately black and disgusting so we bought cheap slipper socks, and the kids pool was in need of some repairs and updating and warmer water! The other pool was adults only so I don’t know about that one but if you are going to limit where I can go with my kids atleast make the water WARM."
