There was no health protocol in the hotel at all. They did not ask us to check in with Peduli Lindungi and did not check the temperature of the visitors. The brekfast place was so crowded with no social distancing at all. The tables and chairs are so dirty. The bed in the room was not comfortable, the pillow and blanket was not properly done. It is like staying in the 2-3 star hotel. I would say it is overprice for that kind of room and service.

Quiet and Relax
We booked a hotel car to pick us up from JOG airport and the driver managed to come early. We got the same driver when we booked the car to Borobudur and he was willing to wait for us until we finished the sunrise tour. Since it was low-season and the room was ready, we could get the room before the check-in time. The staff all were polite and friendly. They tried to have a small talk with the guests. The food served during breakfast and afternoon tea was delicious especially the Indonesian food and snacks. The spa was recommended. The therapists did a good job on the massage. We were the last guests but they were not rushing even though it passed their closing time. The hotel surroundings were mountains and paddy fields. The atmosphere was quiet, calm and peaceful. As a resort hotel, you can't get away with mosquitoes, ants and other insects. As long as you keep the balcony door closed, no mosquitoes will come into your room. We did not find any mosquitoes and ants in our room. We have no complaint about it. Overall, we were very satisfied with all the service and facilities provided. We will consider to stay here again when we have a chance to come back.

The location (within 15 min drive from Borobudur temple) was excellent for seeing the sunrise over Borobudur. And the resort is in a very tranquil area far from the hustle and bustle of a town.

The bed was so comfortable! I had a good night sleep. And the AC was tip top. This hotel is nice and quiet, good for time away from the city. Staff was excellent and always so polite and helpful. I really had a great time here. Highly recommended place to stay within the vicinity of the Borobudur temple.

The reception staff Diwan was rude during check out. He asked whether we used any item from minibar. Our answer was “no”. Apparently he did not trust our words but enquires over walkie talkie from housekeeping right in front of us, which was unusual and unexpected. Either you take your customers words or you verify yourself. Happened to us first time.

Exceptional Stay
I recently stayed at Plataran Heritage Borobudur for 3 nights and it was the best hotel experience I had in a long time. The service was exceptional. The staff went out their way to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. I could tell that they genuinely care about their guests. The room was very clean, bright and airy. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well during my stay. I’m a light sleeper and rarely sleep well in hotels. The hotel is a short drive to the Borobudur temple and they provide free transportation to the temple 3 times a day. They can take you to a different entrance to the main entrance which allows you to avoid the crowds at the main entrance and it is a shorter walk to the temple than from the main entrance. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Our visit got off to a rocky start when we were stranded at the airport for 1.5 hrs waiting for our arranged transfer. It was difficult to contact the hotel. Finally a worker at customer service was able to contact them and due to a ‘miscommunication’ they had not sent a driver to pick us up. However, they quickly arranged for a reliable taxi to pick us up. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager apologized and did not make us pay for the transfer. This is my only complaint! For the rest of our stay the entire hotel was the most friendly, most courteous, and most helpful I’ve come across in my years of travel. The hotel and room was sparkling clean. The rooftop bar serving snacks and drinks daily at tea time was great. The breakfast selection was plentiful with a variety of food choices. We did a couple excursions through the hotel, which we thoroughly enjoyed, including renting bicycles for the afternoon. The manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Again, we got off to a rocky start, but I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again. It is evident the hotel staff pride themselves on sincerely pleasing their customers.

A beautiful retreat in Borobudur. Our room was spacious and charming. The hotel offers a shuttle to the temple and is only 10min away. Borobudur Temple is stunning. The restaurants are also great. Breakfast is included and offers many delicious options. Wished we had one more day to explore the village.

Everyone throughout the hotel's operations was very gracious and helpful; breakfast was varied - we especially liked the herbal drinks (with the explanations of each beside). The Stupa Restaurant was adequate, and the view across the rice paddy quite lovely. In general the location was good; the free shuttle to and from the temple entrance was very convenient. Beautiful decor in the lobby, hallways and room. It would have been absolutely perfect if they had organised something for our wedding anniversary, which coincided with our stay (I had noted this in the booking, but did not make a subsequent reminder when we arrived). This stay has made me curious about other Plataran properties. Many thanks!

Great stay
The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area in the rice fields near the Borobudur. It is built in a beautiful colonial style and still looks new. Our room was beautifully decorated. Nice bathroom and really clean. Breakfast was great, a lot of choices. We had dinner and a few drinks in the bar on the 5th floor. A bit expensive but tasty. Nice atmosphere. We had a quick check in and check out. Staff throughout the hotel was friendly. Both at the reception and restaurant we were asked about our experience and they were open to receive comments (which we did not have). Would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff
We LOVED this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, rooms were large and had a nice view of the pool. The hotel had complimentary tea time in the afternoon and a great buffet breakfast. I was also very happy with the deep tissue massage I got at the spa. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from Borobudor and the staff will arrange drop offs or you can call a Grab/Go-Jek. All of the employees we met were wonderful and above and beyond. I especially recommend the 7am neighborhood walking tour. The staff helped us to rent bikes and even opened up the gym early for us.

Wonderful service. Great ambience. Definitely will be back again. And very close to the Borobudur temple.
