The hotel is brilliantly located ten minutes walk from Borabadur temple grounds and in the middle of the town - easy walk to plenty of food options, local market and just a stroll around the back streets. The staff are fantastic and helpful (we had a 4:30am departure and they packed us a great breakfast). It’s a 3 star hotel and exactly what you’d expect. People note the Mosque nearby and the early morning call to prayer but if you want to stay in the town that is inevitable. Only criticism would be it’s time to invest in new towel sets (perfectly clean but old)

Like other places in Indonesia, and most of Asia, the staff were exceedingly kind. The building is an open-style throwback to the Dutch or brief English colonial era, with soaring ceilings (even in the guest suites), palm trees in the interior courtyard, etc. The few grumbles I have must absolutely be taken in the context of the fact that these people only a few months earlier opened after three years of having no tourists b/c of the pandemic. The ceiling fan in my bathroom was so loud I preferred having the extra humidity to the noise. But when I mentioned this to the staff the problem was fixed immediately. Also, poor drainage in the shower. There were a few other signs of wear and rear, but the room was clean, the air conditioning somewhat effective, and the place really nice. Extremely convenient to Candi Borobudur. The dining hall was nice. My deal included breakfasts, which were plenty. Some days they’d have a buffet, others you’d order the day before. Lunch and dinners were about 3 times the cost of the local “restaurants”—more like street stalls, really—but if you prefer not being interrupted by stray cats and minstrels, it’s worth the few extra dollars. Overall, 7/10.

the staffs are friendly and helpful. they serve nice vegetarian food. they help us to arrange transport to the candi temple to see the sunrise,we need to do early check out and they offer to pack a simple breakfast for everyone of us.

Great stay - friendly staff, beautiful property with lovely pool and great location to visit Borobudur sunrise! Only comment is to have more privacy for changing in the outdoor gazebo before massages, and also more vegetarian options on the menu! Thanks

Next to Borobudur Temple
Next to Borobudur Temple, across the street are some mini markets - laundry shop - local eateries. Recommended stay only for Borobudur Temple visit - nothing more.

Location: a five minutes walk to Borobudur ticketing booth. 1.5hrs from airport. Check in: quick and straight forward. Two storey hotel. Walk up. Quiet and relaxing. Reminiscent of the old days when we use room key, a proper key to unlock door. No auto power switch off. European decor. Room with balcony. Pool view. High ceiling. Spacious. Two WC, one with shower. Wood furniture. Exceptionally high doors.Tiled floor. Bed, away from door. Room door facing court yard. Hotel layout gives guests a sense of true privacy, personal space. Love the privacy!

Great value for a perfect retreat in busy location
Hotel ideally located for walking to temples and especially viewing the Buddhist stupa at dawn. Spacious rooms, quiet, beautiful pool and excellent restaurant. Booking .com only had one night whereas management said there was two nights available so had to find alternative accommodation. Disappointing as would have liked to stay longer.

The Saraswati was lovely in all ways. It has the advantage of being a 5-minute walk from the site. It is beautifully arranged, we had a very large, grand room, the staff were great, food excellent, the pool perfect.

Lovely paradise
What a lovely piece of paradise! I loved staying at Saraswati hotel with exceptional level of service and personal attention. The hotel team really made me feel like home, and I will certainly come back again. The location is the best within a 5 minute walk to Borobudur Temple, rice fields and all the restaurants. The pool is divine! And I really enjoyed the traditional Javanese massage. Definitely will be coming back! Thank you, Saraswati team!

Pros Service was very gracious, kind and hospital. Location was next to Borobudur if you plan to visit Borobudur. Hotel restaurant served quality and tasty food. Cons Hotel is old and dated. Requires refurbishment. Nothing to do around the location except for Borobudur. Quite boring beyond a day stay.

Good for where it is
The charm of this hotel is its proximity to the Borobudur Temple. The pool is nice though the hours are a bit restricted. My room's AC didn't work but then someone came to fix it. It still didn't cool as much as I would have liked but it was cool enough to have a good night's sleep. The hotel staff were nice and friendly. We left early morning and they were kind enough to make packed lunch boxes for us in lieu of the breakfast we missed. I would say that overall this is a good place if you want to be close to Borobudur. The internet was good too.

Saraswati Hotel Borobudur
The hotel is evidently somewhat faded from what it may once have been. The swimming pool is wonderful, but otherwise the rooms/common areas are beginning to show age and the need for an upgrade. Staff are kind and helpful, but not good at suggesting things to do (other than visiting the temple, a world heritage site), places to eat, visit, etc etc. Its other virtue is its relatively small size, which makes for a pleasantly relaxed almost homely atmosphere. Good and reasonably priced massage. Breakfast is OK, but a la carte choices for snacks, lunch and dinner leave a lot to be desired. But for what it is, it's good value for money.

One of the finest hospitality I received at Hotel Saraswati. Staff at Hotel were very helpful. Specially Mr. Bambang. He was very polite and helpful. He took care of all requirements and even made international call to find out our need. My special thanks to Mr Bambang.  Hotel is very good designed to give heritage look. It have big rooms, comfortable bathroom. All rooms are quiet. Towels were soft. Bed and pillows were comfortable to have sound sleep. Limited breakfast but nice and satisfying. In house restaurant is also good for Lunch and dinner. Best part is 12 min by walk to Temple Borobudur. I love to return hotel.

Actually, the room was large and farniture looks nice. Byt, the bed smell bad, and shower is poor, doesn't drain well, One of two AC is broken. it costs about 100 USD, it's too expensive. I never use again and recommend to my friend. very disappointed.

Really is 10 minutes walk from Borobudur. But besides this there is little else nearby. Very cheap local street food outside. Hotel breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and friendly.

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel was conveniently located minutes away from Borobudur. Hotel staff were great, always willing to smile and assist in any way. Rooms were clean. My only grouse was the breakfast menu could be a bit better. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Comfortable and pleasant stay.
Very comfortable stay.Check-in and service were very good.Our aircond controller was not working.The service response was quick and we got a replacement controller which worked well. Our beds were comfortable and the suite could fit in an extra roller bed in our sitting area easily. Hotel is well sited as it takes less than 10 mins to walk to Borobudur temple's entrance. Overall, a pleasant one night stay.

Nice staff and very near to Borobudur
We stayed 4 nights at the Saraswati hotel. The hotel is very close to Borobudur. Staff there is very nice and helpful. The bed is comfortable with two pillows per side. The room we were in was huge with 1.5 bathrooms. It is true that the call to prayer from the mosque is very loud and did wake us, but we were able to fall back asleep on days we weren't trying to rise early anyway. Very slow internet would be the one downside.

Close to the temple and good price
The staff were very good, although some of them did not speak much English. The room was very nice, but appeared older than it probably was. They used recycled materials when they built the hotel. The king size bed was very comfortable, and both air conditioners worked well. My wife notice mill dew on the curtains, so we kept them closed. We had a suite, and both wash rooms were decent. The food from the kitchen was inexpensive and adequate. I have a serious gluten allergy, so we ate most of our meals at Plataran where the chef knew about celiac disease and gluten free cooking. Plataran is probably the best place to eat in Borobudur. Breakfast at the Saraswati was definitely decent, and we had breakfast there every day for almost a week.

Old hotel with poor fixtures
It is an old hotel. Wifi is not working, and IT technician cannot fix it. The business centre has no air conditioning. In the room, there is an old TV set with a few local channels. The restaurant is deserted during lunch and dinner time. It is not busy during breakfast although it comes with the room.

Hotel is close to main temple.
Saraawati Hotel is an old hotel, with a great location. Actually, hotel has some character. The staff is friendly. Rooms, which could use a makeover, surround an outside courtyard. The TV is 1990s vintage. From hotel, it's only a 5 minute walk to the main Borobudur monument. For breakfast, the menu has several choices.

Excellent location, splendid ambiance, swimming pool surrounded by well landscaped garden. Very helpful and informative staff. Great Indonesian buffet nearby is a real bonus. This is a wonderful hotel for romantic getaway or just a few days of relaxation. No complaint, highly recommended.

かなり古めかしい。 コンセントプラグは変換器がないと使えない。 （ホテルで貸してもらえる） ボロブドゥール寺院の入場ゲートから徒歩５分程度で便利。 ただし、ボロブドゥール寺院から出る時はぐるぐると遠回りさせられるので注意。

遺跡からすぐ、自然の中の豪華な建物と素敵なおもてなし
スタッフはどの時間帯の人も親切で感じがいい ＜部屋は素敵なインテリアと高い天井だが設備には問題がある＞ シーズンオフで他のゲストとはチェックイン時に一人会っただけ、とても静か。その静けさの中、よく効くエアコンと換気扇を切ると天井に何かの機械音が大きく響いていた。換気扇を付けて音を中和？させ＋耳栓でぐっすり眠った。 遺跡観光後シャワーを浴びようとしたら洗面所の床に置いたままのバスマットとタオルからミニコオロギみたいなのが飛び出しビックリ。お湯は出るが排水は良くない、でも一段下がっているので溢れる程では無い。 部屋の照明が暗いのは、一階でプールサイドや庭から室内が見えない為には良いが、洗面台だけは明るい照明にしてほしい。ドライヤーはチェックイン時に申告して貸出制（とても小さい） ＜素敵な朝食＞ ジュニアスイートの大きなベッドに一人で一泊。二人分の朝食付きとあり冗談だと思ってたら、チェックイン時、インドネシア料理とアメリカ料理（と時間）を選ぶ際に「二人分だから両方から選んでいいよ。」と！！ 朝食は席に着いてから炒める音が聞こえて、出来立て。インドネシア料理のミーゴレン（複数から選べる）もアメリカ料理のオムレツ（プレーンとミックスから選ぶ）どちらもすごく美味しかった！パンもフルーツも選べる（私は盛合せ。スイカとパパイアあとパイナップル？） ＜緑も花も多くて素敵な庭＞ 到着時（日没後）も散歩したが、朝散歩すると見たことない花や南国の花が木に沢山咲いていていい感じ プールから見てチェアのある小さな建物と右側の宿泊棟の間の小道の先の扉は開いていてホテル正面のロータリーへ出られる。夜、外の門やその扉が閉められたかは分からない。戸締りと、女性はカーテンの開閉に気を付けるべき ＜その他＞ 充電は壁の中途半端な所にあったのでトローリーケースを台にして充電。扉の開閉はかたく感じたが、ヨーロッパのほど重くは無い。思いっきり押せば大丈夫 昼に沢山食べたのと、一人旅なので日没後外出しなかったが、ドライバーによると近所に沢山食べる所があって「ここも」「あそこも」と教えてくれた。人が歩いていなかったし、薄暗いので女性一人には・・どうでしょう？
