Hotels with Bars / Lounges in Discovery Islands

"Stayed at the Painters Lodge last night so this is fresh. Cabin 20, huge lemon pledge smell when we walked in. 1/2 hour later when pledge eased off it smelled like death. Door lock didn’t work. Black Ants in a few rooms. One bedrooms comforter had a gorgeous blood stain. Such a shame. This place used to be fantastic. Hope new ownership gets better but I doubt it. Told the front desk this morning and in a rehearsed “oh sorry about that” he gave no f$&ks. Couldn’t recommend never staying here more. -1/2 a star!"

"I would never stay here again. The place was filthy and falling apart. Drywall falling apart, door falling off the hinges, carpet torn and fraying, floor was not washed and bedsheets were dirty. We asked for another room but the 2nd room was just as bad and on the 3rd floor with burnt out lightbulbs and filthy hallway. I took lots of videos but not photos so can not post them on this form. I was blown away by the condition of the place. Would never stay here again!!"

"The room was clean. The breakfast was hot. The staff was helpful and pleasant. We felt safe."

"The property is well located in the centre of the village. Only complained we had was due to the outside noise (Power saw and back-up alarm from forklift) created by the construction in the harbor. A room on the other side of the hotel might have cushioned that noise somewhat. The staff lady which we connected with in the Grocery/Liquor Store was extremely helpful and sourced a microwave and cutlery for us , since the restaurants where still closed for the season. Would definitely stay there again."

"Our room was clean, modern and had a great view of the ferry harbour. Staff were friendly, helpful and available. We'll return here next visit to Quadra Island."

"Dated and a bit tired, but good sized cabin, clean and functional. Good stocked kitchen and great location within walking distance of Cortes ferry and grocery store/cafe. Like other reviews, yes, mattress is hard and bedroom curtains need to be thick/darker. Off season kitchen closes at 7pm so plan accordingly! "
