Crossroads Inn & Suites

2/10 Terrible

"We came down a night earlier than our planned vacation and stay at the Holiday Inn down the road and decided to stay here based on the reviews and lower price. Everything seemed ok and nice for an older hotel until I went to use the restroom around 11pm and found a roach running across the bathroom sink and crawl back between the wall and the bathroom sink. Spoke with John at the front desk who was extremely nice and helpful. He explained that I’d have to reach out to Expedia who would have to reach out to the owner of the hotel, Peter, reference a potential refund as we packed up our girls and left just before midnight. Expedia reached out to Peter via email and it’s now been 48 hours with no response from Peter. While I don’t necessarily expect a refund, a reply would be nice. That said, be careful renting here. I hope it was an isolated incident as I only saw one roach."

"Room was clean but the jet tub had tons of black flecks when it was turned on. Beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Parking and getting around was extremely confusing, and overall everything is very outdated. However, they just got bought by a new company and the dedication to renovations is already showing. This will likely be a great property in a year or two. Right now it's great for the price, but there's definitely better available. The staff were super nice though we got roped into a timeshare presentation at check in, but at least the perks for listening to the presentation were real and actually nice."

Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Water Park

"Resort is beautiful but once I checked in I noticed door was coming of the hinge (note I do have a toddler and baby) it got fixed following day other issue was light in bathroom kept flickering told them about it but they didnt switch out a simple 1 or 2 light bulbs. I kept the do not disturb sign for 2 days after that it was off never got trash picked up had to dump out my own trash ok no biggy but the biggest issue was water park was closed thats the whole reason why we booked what a bummer. Best thi g they could have done is upgrade our room or wave cleaning fees sowmthing to balance it out I wouldn't book again id go elsewhere"
