The apartment is nice with sufficient space for the family. The challenge is the location which is rather off the grid from the town and a very winding road leading to the club. Location wise is quite a challenge. Staff hardly speak any English but they are very nice people.

Mampei Hotel was wonderful. Much better than I expected considering the price and age of the hotel. The location is good. Very thoughtful and helpful staff, always offering us heat packs/ umbrella when we leave in the morning. Onsen is small but has both indoor and outdoor areas, good vanity supplies and hair dryer. Location is excellent if you drive and want to be based near the Hoshino resort area. Plenty of things to explore within 20min drive from hotel.

The hotel only a 5min walk from Karuizawa station. Bike rentals are available in the hotel itself, which was very convenient. You can cycle to Kumoba pond and the Old Ginza Street and be able to reach in less than 30mins. I stayed for 7 nights. Breakfast was delivered in a basket at your preferred time (from 7am to 9.30am). Prompt and attentive service staff. You get free transfers to anywhere within the Prince establishments. Big and comfortable room, with a spacious and beautiful lobby. Of course the natural surrounding is pleasing to the eyes.

Room space and amenities. Housekeeping was excellent. Very nice bar. Staff were friendly even with limited English. Enjoyed the private bath. Great location near to old Karuizawa street. Quiet luxury to sum up description of this boutique hotel.

The room was a bit small but was near an Aeon Mall and had coin laundry and dryers at L1. Overall a decent stay.
