Eating and drinking is quite pleasing on Ko Lanta thanks to its excellent Thai cuisine and good selection of international options. Much of the local food here has Malay and Indian origins, like massaman curry, chicken biriyani and khanom jeen (noodles with fish curry). Some of the best places to find cheap local cuisine are along Klong Dao Road, Klong Khong and Ba Kantiang roads, as well as in Ban Saladan. For seafood, stroll along any of the beaches and dine at a beachfront restaurant. Of course the most upmarket eateries are inside the high-end resorts. Drinking here is a relaxing experience that takes place in beachfront and poolside bars.Shopping
The Indonesian art of batik has been passed down to the Ko Lanta community and there are some lovely handicrafts available. There is a covered shopping plaza near Saladan Pier where you will find clothing, handicrafts and other souvenirs, although the entire Ban Saladan area has plenty of shops, tailors and art galleries. There are a few unique shops along the main road in Lanta Old Town as well as in Klong Nin and Kantiang Bay.
