In the province of Krabi, Ko Lanta is one of Thailand’s more memorable destinations. This small island is a great place to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand for a few peaceful days. However, staying connected when staying here is important to most visitors. There are many beautiful hotels with complimentary wireless internet connections available for guests.
Most of the hotels with Wifi throughout the area are the high-end resorts. These places generally offer free wireless internet in the rooms and in the public areas. However, some may charge rates for use of the internet in the public spaces like pool area and fitness room. Pimalai Resort and Spa is a luxurious five-star resort that offers high-speed connection in all rooms. You'll find it in the standard deluxe options and the private villas.
Many other four and five-star hotels across Ko Lanta provide guests with wireless internet. Places like the stunning Twin Lotus Resort, the Houben Hotel, and the Crown Lanta Resort and Spa have complimentary internet connection in all rooms. In addition to wireless internet, many of the rooms have landline connections too. This can make it more reliable for business guests.
It’s not just the high-end hotels with wireless web services on Ko Lanta. Many of the mid-range hotels across Ko Lanta also have wireless internet in the rooms. The Twin Bay Resort is an excellent and affordable accommodation option with wireless internet in both the rooms and public spaces. High speed internet is also available in the Narima Bungalow Resort on Khlong Nin Beach. Another popular three-star hotel with excellent internet connection is Kaw Kwang Beach Resort.
Even though there are many different hotels with wifi in Ko Lanta, tourists are advised to book well in advance if they are travelling to the island in the high season. Rooms tend to be more expensive during this time. In the low season, great rates can be found on all hotels across Ko Lanta.Restaurants and Bars
Eating and drinking is quite pleasing on Ko Lanta thanks to its excellent Thai cuisine and good selection of international options. Much of the local food here has Malay and Indian origins, like massaman curry, chicken biriyani and khanom jeen (noodles with fish curry). Some of the best places to find cheap local cuisine are along Klong Dao Road, Klong Khong and Ba Kantiang roads, as well as in Ban Saladan. For seafood, stroll along any of the beaches and dine at a beachfront restaurant. Of course the most upmarket eateries are inside the high-end resorts. Drinking here is a relaxing experience that takes place in beachfront and poolside bars.Shopping
The Indonesian art of batik has been passed down to the Ko Lanta community and there are some lovely handicrafts available. There is a covered shopping plaza near Saladan Pier where you will find clothing, handicrafts and other souvenirs, although the entire Ban Saladan area has plenty of shops, tailors and art galleries. There are a few unique shops along the main road in Lanta Old Town as well as in Klong Nin and Kantiang Bay.
