"Thymus Residence is just such a different place to stay with breakfast taken just next door to our accommodation in a former medieval church. So many interesting features in the immediate area. We chose a cava suite at Thymus for 3 nights. Simply had to have one of the former cave rooms if you’re going to Matera! Such a different experience to staying in a regular room. But while still visibly a cave architecturally, it had every convenience to a high standard. Absolutely amazing."

"Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. "The staff was wonderful help us arrange a taxi to and from the bus station. Michele was the sweetest and made a wonderful breakfast each morning.
