Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Second time staying at Cabana Bay and was in building 2 (Thunderbird), loved the mid century modern design to this room. The partition from the kitchen/living room to the bedroom helped to block the noise from the pool area. Very clean and well maintained. Great to have a fridge to keep the drinks cold for the next morning. Thankful the gift shop had chargers, we brought the wrong charger cords for our phones and that was a lifesaver - although costly ($85/2 charger cords and plugs). Quickly went thru the diner in the am for fresh fruit cup and fill up our water bottle. Starbucks in the lobby is amazing and great for those early mornings for the early admission to the parks. Shuttles were quick"

"The last time I stayed in this hotel was six years ago. Just like then it far exceeded my expectations. The rooms, facilities, grounds, pool, literally everything, we’re all phenomenally maintained. The staff or beyond friendly and would go out of their way to be helpful. They answered any and every question we had with a smile, even if it was a question they had probably been asked 1000 times a day by every other person visiting for the parks. The included breakfast made staying there for our trip to Universal and no-brainer. The weight staff at the breakfast buffet made every morning a joy. If there is anything higher than five stars this place we get it without question"

"This was our first time at Westgate Lakes Resort, and we will definitely come back! We had an amazing and HUGE 2 bedroom unit that overlooked a lake, and it was also very convenient to one of the pools. Also close to the shops, restaurants and main building. We unfortunately had some bad weather and couldn't enjoy the water park, but I went to the fitness center and it was outstanding! All of the staff was helpful, the beds were super comfortable and I even got to enjoy a bubble bath in the huge jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. There were ample towels, hand towels, toilet paper, paper towels etc. I highly recommend this resort, we were 15 minutes from Universal Theme Parks, as well as only a few minutes from International Drive and other restaurants and the Kia Center. We'll definitely come back, as we visit Orlando often! The only slight negative at all was the check in Friday night was very busy and took a little bit, and also our key stopped working before our check out time but we were able to text the front desk and they set up for us to reactivate our key from the building. Very efficient and nice staff though, Jennica at the front was wonderful and the assistance we got with our bags was so appreciated from the person who also led us to our building. Looking forward to our next trip to hopefully be able to stay at Westgate again!"
