"POSITIVE: - Staff very friendly and helpful. The were attentive, helpful and seemed like really genuine people. - Received individually wrapped chocolate chip cookies and toy cars at checkin, which was a lovely surprise and very much loved by my kids. - Free basic breakfast (croissants, bananas, toast, Pop-Tarts, coffee, tea). Seating available for guests. - Location: 50 minutes from Avila beach, 5 minutes from Hearst Castle, 5 minutes from Cambria. Note it is not beach-front by any means. - Very cute, clean and on-theme lobby, with fully built lego figures on display and a motorcycle. Very fun ambiance in the lobby (only). CONS: - Dingy and dirty. Our room was dark and the carpet was really dingy and dirty. We had to wipe up a spill on the carpet and so much dirt and grime came off on the cloth. It grossed up out. The handle kept falling off of our fridge. Our phone didn't work. There was mold in the bathroom grout. This was the biggest issue about our stay. - Cloudy pool: We were really excited about the indoor pool, given the rainy weather. Disappointed to find cloudy water and general run down feeling of the pool. They did have small pool towels available. Overall, it was an affordable option, but given the cleanliness of the room, I wouldn't recommend it. I really wish I could, because the staff were so welcoming."

"Everything about this place feels very dated especially the rooms. Best part was the water pressure was good but unfortunately our drain was nearly completely backed up so while showering would fill up (and it was in the fill up position to allow water to drain). Check in took surprisingly long considering I prepaid. They had cookies for guests but they were devoid of flavor. Parking was also a challenge when we got back late one night as the hotel doesn’t seem to have an adequate sized lot. "

"Room had a broken fridge was replaced when asked had water buildup entry to room , when we went to bed windowsill had a major leak it was raining all night water was pouring on heater called front desk several times no answer we just turned off heater to avoid fire "
