We rented a cozy room and were suprised at how small these rooms are. Albiet the room was clean modern and comfotable.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Wonderful friendly staff, lovely pastries in a morning and tea/coffee. Loved the roof and nothing was too much trouble! If we come back to Sydney we’ll be staying again!!!

The hotel was quaint. The staff were all very personable and helpful. The location is in a neighborhood with many pubs and restaurants around. It is a very short walk to public transportation to get to the city within 15 minutes.

Cosy, convenient and congenial.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Intriguing building and surrounds showing respect to local history. Rooftop garden provides a sense of extra space and privacy. Gin time a reception is an extra touch of congeniality.

Had the best time at the Crystalbrook Albion! The hotel itself is lovely and unique, and located in a great part of town. The team's communication was excellent (they texted ahead of time to make sure we didn't have any questions) and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond.

I loved it there. The staff was friendly and always very helpful. The property is well-designed, well-kept and centrally located. Good beds and internet. I'd definitely stay there again.

Great stay - all hotels should be like this!
What a find! This is a beautiful boutique hotel nestled in the back lanes of Surry Hills. The mix of old and new architecture is seamless - perfectly done. Come for the rooftop space and the honour bar - what a great idea!

Nice hotel tucked away in an alley. The room was small but enough for my wife and I and the roof top was a nice place for a night cap under the stars.

It’s an interesting place to stay. The walk from Rydges car park was very uphill, being an excessively hot day and having an injury that wasn’t fun- despite it being a short walk. The soundproofing was pretty woeful and we were woken several times but the noise of other guests. Room is teeny tiny but has what we needed. Staff were really nice.

The perfect home base in Sydney
When we walked into the property (3 hours before check-in time and following a flight from L.A.), we were greeted with a smile and great service. While our room was not ready, the manager arranged to have it prioritized...and offered us a shower, pastries, and coffee while we waited. The room was as advertised. Clean. Well-appointed. Comfortable. The location was perfect. It was quiet, but close to public transportation (which is fantastic in Sydney). Unrelated to the hotel, but worth noting is Shaffa (a couple doors down). We booked dinner there because it was close to the hotel -- but during a trip where we at at restaurants with "Chef's Hats" and "World's 50-best" accolades, this was probably the best meal we had. We would stay at Crystalbrook Albion again. It's a gem.

I was so surprised by this property- It was amazing that we were upgraded to the best room in the house due to availability! but the communal areas are still so beautiful. I can't wait to return! The location is also excellent for walking to Central Station. It is up a slight hill, but nothing too taxing!

Disappointed with my room not quite as described, lift was not working so having a room on the 4th floor was horrendous. Breakfast was not ready when I left, but I think it’s not that good from what the reception told me.

Service and styling of the hotel is great. The bed was a little uncomfortable. Maybe time for replacement? Aside from this I very much enjoyed the stay and aim to come back.

Service Amazing. Overpriced Room Rate
The staff were the absolute standout during our stay. Super helpful and very welcoming and friendly. However, I have to say, I dont feel that the room was value for money. We stayed in one of the pet friendly Urban rooms which was cute but VERY SMALL. Then with the additional $95 for bringing our dog, this meant we paid $500+ for one night with a check in at 3pm with no breakfast or parking. The room had no access to any form of light/view as it looked out onto a brick wall/tiny alley way. Having stayed all over the world at some incredible places, I personally felt this room was massively overpriced. I wouldn't stay again, which is a shame as the hotel is tastefully furnished and the staff are AMAZING but value for money just isnt there.

We have 3 pet friendly rooms, all located on the ground floor, found in our “Urban Room” type. Being a heritage listed building, built in 1903, the hotel is filled with so many gorgeous details to explore and all rooms have their own individual personalities – just as you said, in your room with the original exposed brick walls and skylights in the bathroom. The size of the building and staying to the original form, we cannot have a restaurant or parking onsite. However, we have amazing relationships with our local neighbourhood who offer these extras. The Albion is a classy boutique hotel in the heart of Surrey Hills that took me straight back to some of my favourite small hotels in Paris. Only stayed one night but will be back. The room was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. The hotel is very quiet despite its location. No restaurant but why would you think about eating in the hotel when you are surrounded by some of the best restaurants and cafes in Sydney?
