Rydges World Square is a very good hotel. Everything is fine with the exception of the in-room audio visual offering. The Free-To-Air TV picture frequently starts to break up, the Foxtel selection is all being presented in the wrong aspect ratio (should be 16:9, not 4:3), the option to stream to the TV from the guest's own devices utilises an obscure mirroring option which requires the guest to find an app, which did not work at all with my Android devices, rather than use the widely known and very efficient Google Chromecast. If the hotel set out to frustrate the use of the streaming or casting option the outcome could not be worse than it is now. To top it off the room's flimsy clock radio must one of the cheapest on the market and it sounds that way. A pity. It's a botch-up at a fine hotel.
