My husband and I stayed 5 nights in a budget room. This was our second stay at this hotel. We had to switch rooms because of an unpleasant smell (which I can only describe as “old”) and suspicious white powdery flakes all over the floor. The second room was only slightly better. It was somewhat worse than our last stay and the only reason we stayed again was because the location was perfect for our needs and near relatives. However, we will stay somewhere else in the future. It was just not comfortable and everything felt a bit dirty just because it was old and not updated enough. The hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating.

Forward Hotel stay
We stayed at this hotel last year, they gave us a different room, it was bigger, cleaner, and the furniture are all n good condition. This year, we decide to return and stay in the same hotel, to our surprise, the quality went down . The service and breakfast were really good, but the shower door has crack and can not close properly, and mold in the tile, and the TV table was kind of broken, the sheet smell like it is not fresh, for that price in Taiwan, I expect the hotel quality in much better condition than that. I was disappointed.

Good price for the location
The location was good, subway just beside the hotel. Breakfast was mainly local dishes. Housekeeping was good. Beside hotel is also a convenience stall. Staff are polite and friendly. Have to walk a little to find food. Cabs are generally waiting outside the hotel too, no need to walk out. The bed was a little soft though. I was given a key for hotel room not keycard.

Forward continues to satisfy.
Excellent location accessible to Metro, nearby shops, restaurants and night market. Very nice people, immediate response to any questions or concerns. Wonderful breakfast, western or Chinese style. 5th time we have stayed here-great value for the traveling dollar.

Looked promising, but disappointing in the end.
The hotel is located in a good centralized area of the city. It's REALLY close to the subway, taxi/buses, and convenience stores. The hotel in general was very clean and staff were helpful and attentive. It's once you get to your room to rest where the disappointments start. The room I had was clean, however it had a mild smell of cigarette smoke throughout the room which made relaxing in the room a challenge. Also, since as mentioned the hotel is near a busy area of the city, road and street noise were VERY noticeable. Of course some noise is expected but it was almost as if there were no windows in the room and you were sleeping outside it was so overwhelming. I can't imagine there was any sound insulation at least in my room. I cannot recommend this hotel as it's not a tranquil resting space as you expect from a hotel after a long day in the city. As the title of this review suggests, this hotel looks great on the outside, it's only when you want a good night's sleep do you find out that you probably should have looked elsewhere.

Need some improvments
The shower had tap must be replaced with a new one. I was not able to have a comfortable shower because the shower had been old and blocked. It is cost nothing to replace but still the hotel do not replaced them. I stayed in two different rooms and it was the same in both. The breakfast is very simple and not satisfied.

Nice and comfy hotel close to metro station
Service was great and location was very convenient. We were so impressed that the metro exit is right in front of the hotel entrance! It's in New Taipei City but it took us only around 15 mins to get to city centre. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only imperfection was that we could not get access to the hotel wifi though staff had tried their very best to help. Anyway we bought data sim card so it's just a minor problem. Highly recommended!

Good hotel
I enjoyed my stay at Forward Hotel. The room is large and well appointed. The area is not as nice as some other parts of Taipei. Also, the breakfast is not as good as some other area hotels. But overall, this is a good place to stay and the overall value for money is good.

Nice comfortable stay
Comfortable stay. My baggage was misplaced by airline- however hotel staff help me coordinate. It's far away from airport to this hotel and i had to go up-down the airport to pick-up by bag which came by later flight. Rooms are very spacious and internet is fast. Breakfast is okay. Since it's next to Metro station XINPU - exit 2. It's very comfortable to travel anywhere in Taipei.

Great Access to Metro trains
Great staff, hotel is nice and rooms are in good condition. Nice breakfast included. Within 1 min walk to access City subway Metro system made this hotel a must stay when going to Taipei in the future

A great choice for saying close to Taipei MRT
The hotel is super close to MRT Xinpu. It's about 10 m. from Exit 2 of the Xinpu MRT. I like its location a lot, and there is a 7-11 nearby in a distance about 3-5 mins walking. Though I heard some street noises, I stay on 5th fl., I don't have any problem, and the room is very spacious. I also love a bathtub that allow me to relax after a long day of walking. The breakfast is good too. Have variety of choice to choose. I definitely recommend this place.

Nice and Clean Hotel near Taipei
We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel just out side Taipei. Price was very affordable for such conveniently located to many attractions in Taipei. The entrance to Taipei MTR is just outside that can take to most Taipei attractions fast and conveniently. Banqiao Train Depot is close by and the High Speed Train can take you to the airport and major cities in South Taiwan. The local train provides access to many scenic spots and old cities outside Taipei. These cities are worth visiting as they reflected the natural and calm atmosphere of traditional Taiwan with may of the heritages that are difficult to find in other Chinese communities.

Nice hotel close to the metro station
Forward hotel is a few feet away from the metro station, it has a convenience store on its right where you can buy snacks when you are hungry at night. The hotel staff are very friendly and provided a very good service throughout our stay. You can store your luggage at the hotel lobby and claim it before your flight when you check out your room. You can leave the keys at the counter if your friends might be returning to the hotel before you do. On the other hand, they can also help you to open your room with another set of keys by the hotel sanitation staff. There is good ambiance in the lobby and the corridor on every level. There are toilets on the first level, which you can use if the toilet in your room is occupied. The rooms are very clean and neat. The beds are very soft and comfortable. The family room is very spacious, it is able to hold 2 queen sized beds, 1 roll-away bed, working table, coffee table and sofa set. You can have a good view of the street from your window. The toilet is very clean and spacious, it has a shower cubicle and a separate bathtub. The toilet bowl has good noise discipline despite its slow flush, it works perfectly fine. They provided us with breakfast buffet from 7am to 10am for all members in the room, which is 4-5 for the family room.

Stayed for a week for business. Hotel staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Their English is passable and they do their very best to accomodate your needs and requests. They even went out of their way to help accompany me buy some wine at the local wine store! The hotel is mediocre, but it is pretty much the best you can get in Banqiao area.. Would stay here again for sure!
