Beautiful, clean hotel. I only gave it 4 stars, because there were issues with heating/cooling. I woke up one night sweating, and the A/C wouldn’t change from heat. After a front desk visit, they said it was cold to some guests and they switched the thermostat to heat. And it affects the ENTIRE hotel. Apparently cost efficient. I do not sleep well in heat, and they did change it back. On checkout day, we checked out late for rest before flight and they did it again, but were less accommodating directing me to turn it off and open the window which is only a crack. In Tokyo, it wasn’t necessarily cold to me, but cool. I wouldn’t stay again because I didn’t want to be offensive to the culture/people, but I can’t do the heat while sleeping.

Amazing. This hotel had everything we needed, the staff was friendly, the room was well laid out and had everything to make us comfortable. Room was also bigger than other rooms we stayed in in Japan. Overall would stay here again.

APA hotels consistently deliver a great experience. The location is a short walk to the JR line and the Tokyo subway lines. There is also a Lawson across the street and a family mart nearby.

Great spot - some train noise as it's nearby the JR rail, but that's just white noise and very convenient for transportation. Hotel is clean, has everything you might need, and staff is friendly. The only suggestion I could make is to have more elevators (only one for the whole hotel, and while it is generally a bit slow given all the floors, at 10am checkout it is wildly congested, took about 5-10 min to finally catch it with room for us).

Overall good stay in Ueno for the first couple nights to get acclimated to Tokyo. Ueno is very convenient when it comes to transportation since it links with both the Skyliner/JR lines/Local lines.

Great and convenient location. Check-in & check-out are both easily done with front desk machine. The single non-smoking with double bed is roomy and comfortable, including the bathroom, which is rare in Tokyo busy area. Highly recommended in Ueno area if you are ok to take an extra 1 stop on JR to airports
