I have been staying at The B Ikebukuro for the last 15 years whenever I go to Tokyo. Ikebukuro East side is much more quite than the west side and way less hectic than Shinjuku. This hotel is very close to the station with easy access to both JR and Metro.

The location was great, close to the train station, restaurants and shopping. They were very kind to hold our bags after check out until our flight time. Beds were clean and comfortable, the shower was very relaxing with interesting water features. There room had some scratched furniture and the lobby drinking water system was broken, these could be easily fixed and it could give a better impression to guests. A pizza restaurant was located on the second, even though it was expensive, it was very convenient after a long day of walking. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The B has been my main stay for the past 12 years. It has great access to food and shopping and easy transport by train or subway. And the area is more quiet than other touristy spots like Shinjuku and Ueno.

The TV did not work and we found it difficult to make room colder. The bed may not be comfortable for westerners who are used to more supportive pillows and a softer bed, but everything was very clean and staff was great! Location was very convenient and the hotel was stylish. Very quiet too!! I enjoyed using the laundry machines and just wish the TV worked and the bed and requested pillows were softer.
