"The renovations (since it was known as the Sir Francis Drake) created a very nice and pleasant atmosphere. Noise level on the Powell Street-side was relatively high due to a combination of the trollies and late-night conversations/shouting in the street. Otherwise, the stay was fantastic. Note: I unexpectedly ended up extending my stay and was moved to another room. The noise was not an issue at all on the Union Square facing side of the hotel."

"Room looked clean but had some dust and dander in the air as this hotel allows pets in the rooms. Very helpful staff. Basic amenities like water was missing. There is no water bottle in room, at reception or in vending machines. "

"The hotel is over 100 years old but the room was immaculate the service great. Free lattes free fruit free cookies. They offered several types of pillows. Even a rubber duckie on the bath tub. The staff was so helpful and nice. The location was excellent "
