“Nice get away with the wife of 37 years”

Howard Johnson hotel was close to several local restruants, shopping,lake Erie and about 45 minutes to the Casino in Erie Pennsylvania. We are not high maintenance folks and being retired military we enjoyed our stay plus were able to use an Expedia coupon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not new but still has a lot of life left. Beds were very comfortable. It was a nice week end get away with the wife to see some place new to us. We evne had luch south of the hotel in Amish Country. (Middlefield Ohio) Our next trip with Expedia leaves in about 10 days for Florida. Yippee - as we need some sun shine.We're trading in Frost bite for a Sun Burn

Nice hotel, room was clean and the bed was very soft. Breakfast was bad very bad, good thing there is a Mc'y D's about 20ft down the road. And not to sure about pool it was storming when we were there.

“OK for what we needed”

Geneva does not have very many actual hotels, and if you make plans last minute in the summer they are hard to come by. The room was clean, and the service was fine, but the hotel was not kept up very well over all. If you plan on going to Geneva and can book in advance, one of the many bed and breakfast options would probably be a better choice.

“Not My Kind of Place”

Howard Johnson's was the only vacancy in town due to a Mid-evil revival gathering. It is on Interstate 90 and very noisy. It has balconies which is nice but one side faces I90 and the swimming pool, the other side faces the parking lot which has a restaurant in it. The rooms were clean but worn. The blankets were literally like a scrub pad and very thin as were the sheets. Towels, washclothes were worn and stained too. the staff were very nice and the continental breakfast was good with fresh coffee and a small variety of fruit, cerial, and pastries.

“Eh”

Our room had a funky odor. The bed wasn't very comfortable. It's serviceable, but the Sleep Inn in Austinburg was worth the extra money.

“definitely not worth what I paid”

I chose the place because it was exactly 8 hours from where I was ultimately headed, it was a well known chain, and it had wireless access. The price for the night seemed high, but it's been a while since I've gone on a road trip. Though, for the money I expected a more. I expected more than 2 generic cereal boxes and stale doughnuts at the complimentary breakfast. I expected the bottom sheets of the two beds in my room to actually be tucked in and not just thrown on the beds. I expected the walls of the hallway to be a little cleaner. The day clerks weren't very happy that day, although the night staff was very pleasant. I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was expecting more than I got.

“Not impressed”

The room wasn't any too clean. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. The tub filled up with water that never went down.
