Laid back modern hotel where nothing is a problem. Think of the Premier Inns advert but at a reasonable price.

“Almost perfect”

The welcome was genuine, informative and friendly from the reception staff. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, with enough towels and pillows. There was a nice selection of complimentary toiletries and very nice coffee! The bed was well made, clean and comfortable. My only niggle is that room service decided to knock quietly on the door at 9.30am and then walked in as I hadn't heard them (and I sleep very lightly), then continued to do so another 3 times. As check out time was not until much later, and as we had clearly NOT checked out, the intrusion into my precious time in bed, was not welcome at all. There was no Do Not Disturb sign available to prevent such intrusions.

Hotel is efficient,clean and remarkably good value for money. Lovely walk along the Grand Union canal , which leads to parks and Ousel valley. Even apparent remoteness is offset by proximity of Fenny Stratford station.

“French cuisine???”

The room was fine, it was the resaurant that was a huge dissapointment. On the website it was posted as having two restaurants - one French and the other English, supposedly very high standard. There was only one fairly small restaurant and it was very, very basic but overpriced. There was supposed to be a top notch French chef, but I doubt that very much as a pie I had was very ordinary and definitely bought in. Apart from one other couple, the whole restaurant was full of transvestites which was rather novel I must say!!

“Not very welcoming!”

Had a warning left on the bed that any damage to room would result in a £100 fine or stained towel £20 fine. I've never deliberately damaged any hotel room but having had a spray tan in anticipation of a great day out, I felt like I had to sleep in the bath (without any towels!) least I spoil their pristine room. Never felt less welcome!
