“Cheap place to stay, don't expect perfection.”
If saving money is your object and you don't particularly care about outer appearances, this is your place! Quite rundown on the outside (chipping paint and concrete), but room was very clean and comfortable. (Beds NOT so comfortable, though - my back and my teenage son's back hurt in the morning - sign of a cheap mattress). For the $$, a good place to stay. Unlike other hotels in its price range, this one offers free Continental breakfast (with a waffle maker!), has a pool(!), free HBO, coffee maker in the room. 2min from the IU campus, 3min to downtown Bloomington, very convenient to restaurants, etc. If you're not too picky, and trying to save some dough, this is your place. I will stay there again.
“Good Hotel”
It was a good value
“Not the best experience but...”
It's not the best hotel but within the price range it's acceptable. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep, that would be it.
“It is adequate”
Appeared to have begun as one of the well known major chain motels back in the 60s. It was in declining health but was clean and relatively inexpensive for the area. Check in was a breeze. The room was clean but cheaply appointed.
“As you see you pay for what you get **** CHEAP ****”
This hotel needs alot of work .....
“Needs Service Improvement”
This hotel is great for the price. But the managers need to be more customer friendly. One night of our stay, another guest's car alarm went off every forty-five minutes the entire night. By morning it was every 15 minutes. The hotel needed to tell this guy to just lock his car and not activate the alarm! Instead, they let him ignore them and everyone else suffered. They may not have wanted to offend him, but instead they offended all the rest of us who did not get a decent night's sleep!
“Not impressed.”
The hotel was not well cleaned or maintained. The coat rack in my room was falling off the wall. It seemed like effort was put into making the lobby and outside of the building look good, but the rooms were not well kept. There was a nice continental breakfast, but the room it was in wasn't as clean as I would have liked. I didn't feel comfortable eating in my room.
“Would not stay there again”
Run down not well maintained
“Don't stay here”
The rooms are dirty, We had to change rooms 3 times. The toilets would not flush, at one time a maintenance man plunged the toilet then carried the plunger thru the room dripping all the way from the bath room to the entry door for the room. That was it had enough!
“Stay here if you don't care about sleeping”
My son was interviewing at IU Bloomington and many hotels were full. I knew this hotel had a bad rating but we are really not that picky and I figured it couldn't be that bad. What a waste of money! I would have had a better night's sleep if I brought a sleeping bag for the car. My room was next to a party room. Loud music and lots of talking/yelling and doors slamming all night. I could not sleep at all and called the front desk several times to try to get them to quiet down but it was just a college kid at the desk and the management has no policy against parties in rooms so I was out of luck. Eventually around 3:30 AM, I packed up all my stuff, got dressed and was able to move to a room a bit farther away and slept for a few hours. The next morning the staff was apologetic but could not give me a refund because the manager could not be reached. I left my phone number and email for him to contact me but of course he hasn't. If you are still considering this hotel you should also know that the nonsmoking rooms still smell like smoke - when I unpacked my suitcase when I got home my pajamas smelled like smoke. Also towels were stained. I thought the price was ridiculously high given the bad quaility of this hotel. You'll probably be better off if you go to the motel 6 down the street.
