“A great place to relax and sample Tuscany”
We satyed here for the first week in July & used it as a base to explore Tuscany. It's located very centrally & you can travel by car in under an hour to Florence, Pisa, Sienna & many other lovely towns & villages. The hotel's very clean & thoughtfully decorated. The staff, especially in the restaurant, are very friendly and helpfull. The restaurant is possibly the best feature, we enjoyed several meals there of an excellent standard with some superb local wines at very reasonable prices. The pool whilst not the biggest is nicely laid out and the pool side service is very nice with canopes & drinks bought out by staff......very relaxing. We would recomend to possibly stay here for 3-4 nights & then move on to another area only because there is not an a great deal to do in Montaione but that's not always a bad thing!!!
“The best Hotel in the heart of Tuscany”
This hotel and it's staff made our stay perfect. The room was alway's clean and staff alway's were friendly and helpful .110% I'd stay here anytime .You are close to some of the oldest hilltop towns and in fact the Hotel is part of a very old hill top town .The people in the village were frendly and welcomming .The food and wine is sooooo good .
“We had a wonderful time, Hotel staff very helpful and cant't wait to go back”
It can be sometimes difficult to image from the details supplied on the web what the hotel is really like but you need not worry with this hotel it was great. We found the staff very helpful and as our Italian is not up to much the staff speaking English was a bonus. The hotel itself was very comfortably furnished, the vaulted restaurant is definitely worth a visit and our room had views over the Tuscan countryside and again very comfortably furnished. It was a good centre for travelling being our first time to Tuscany. The Tuscan country side even in late March was picturesque, and we travelled to San Gimignano and Volterra All in all a very nice stay and can not wait to go back
“A gem of a hotel”
Montaione is not one of the most popular places to holiday in Tuscany, and to be honest my wife and I were only using it as a "half-way house" on our travels. Imagine our surprise and delight to discover UNA Palazzo Mannaioni in what turned out to be a wonderful, character filled Tuscan town! The hotel is run and maintained to the highest standards and the staff are pleasant, efficient and most helpful. We couldn't speak highly enough of our whole experience and would recommend the hotel and town to anyone.
“A very pleasant surprise”
The hotel staff was top-notch. The town of Montaione is very picturesque and conveniently located. The rooms are smaller than Americans may expect but they are comfortable and immaculately maintained, besides with all the region has to offer you won't be spending much time in your room. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant at the hotel as well as the several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel were great.
“Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town”
We have just returned from a stay at this fantastic hotel in Montaione. The town itself is a lovely little place with a few really nice restaurants; definitely try the fish place near the hotel. The hotel is a really nice mix of old and new, the building itself is fairly old, while the decoration, fixtures etc are all new. The rooms are great, they were experiencing a bit of a heat wave while we were there and the air conditioning struggled, especially as for some strange reason the air conditioning is turned off at night! The first room we had was a bit warm, but as soon as we spoke to the staff about it they did everything they could to help and we were moved off into a cooler (and bigger) room with no fuss. The restaurant is great, with excellent service the little Prosecco aperitif as you come in is a nice touch. The pool is also fantastic, there is a bar there which is sometimes unmanned, but it is easy enough to find someone if you want a drink or a great light lunch. The staff are fantastic, always happy to help with anything you need and very cheerful and considerate. In conclusion, a lovely little hotel in a picturesque town halfway between Pisa and Florence; well worth a visit.
“If you want to chill out and relax.....”
Just spent a very relaxing week here. Junior suite very comfortable if a bit old fashioned. En suite excellent. Pool area ideal but might get a bit crowded when extension is completed. Staff always very friendly and courteous. Sit at the pool and your drinks and lunch are brought to you. Service fairly slow but if you are in the right frame of mind it doesn't matter. Breakfasts very good but evening meal a big disappointment - expensive, medium steak had nothing resembling red in it and presentation unimaginative.
“Fantastic Hotel, fantastic serice, cant wait to go back”
Hotel beautifully decorated. junior suite had balcony overlooking Tuscan mountains. Great breakfast and very welcoming staff
“Approachable, friendly staff, comfortable hotel in a pleasant town”
We found the staff very approachable, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was expensive but there are several good places to eat nearby. During our stay there was building work in progress on an adjacent plot which was very noisy.
“Would stay here again!”
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights of a 6 night trip to Tuscany. The hotel is situated in the heart of the pretty little village of Montaione. We stayed in a junior suite which had a balcony overlooing the pool and terrace. The suite was the size of a large room, with the duplex aspect giving the feeling of space. The room was clean and tidy. The staff were pleasant, happy to help with any requests, and provided maps/directions when asked. The hotel has a free onsite carpark (somewhat of a rarity in our experience of Italian hotels), although it has limited number of spaces, which could be a problem in high season.
