“Much improved”
Since it was remodeled and renamed Red Lion, this hotel has drastically improved. The beds are a bit hard, but otherwise I cannot complain about the room. The lounge lizards, emptying into hotel room as 1-2 a.m., are a little loud, though, as is the train. So, request a room on the south side of the hotel, away from the railroad tracks, and keep the AC/Heater fan on and you'll have a decent stay. Management really could make this place an A+ property by dealing with the loud drunks as the stagger out of the bar.
“Fine for a one night stay”
When you walk into the hotel, it smells of cigarette smoke. That smell carried up to the 2nd floor - also, there are no elevators to the 2nd floor. Our room was very large, clean (no cigarette smell inside the room) and the beds were comfortable, but the lighting in the room was dark - there wasn't much and it was dim. The room did have a nice microwave and refrigerator. In order to connect to the wi-fi, we had to go back down to the desk and get the code. The breakfast was in the steakhouse and was very good! Lots of choices. For one night it was fine, but if I had an extended stay I would choose somewhere else.
“Cold Halls and Hearts Hotel”
Arrived at an almost empty hotel on a Tuesday afternoon tired and needing a rest. When I went up to reception and before any welcome, I was told that if I was going to check in, it was still an hour till check-in and to come back later. The room looked clean, however when I pulled a small bedside table from the wall to look for a plug, there were crumbled, used up tissues behind it. The chain lock on the room door had been busted off and unusable. It is a cold winter in a high altitude area, but there was no heat in the inside halls nor in the inside patio both that had to be traversed to get to the lobby. The Inn's restaurant food quality and appearance was disappointing and the interior smelled of old grease. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and two of just a small handful of guests at the hotel. The only redeeming quality was the comfortable bed with fluffy pillows. But despite this I would not recommend.
