“Adequate Facilities - Untrained staff - not impressed”

My family and I stayed here overnight during August. The rooms are clean yet spartan. Beds are small and uncomfortable. Air conditioning is adequate. To keep the lights on in the room requires a pass key. The dining room service and food was fine and the waiters friendly. The front desk staff was COMPLETELY INEPT. We had difficulty cheeking in and upon checking out we had to pay for incidentals and meals in cash because the credit card machine was "broken".. meaning the clerk could not operate it. A heated exchange ensued with the desk clerk who threatened to call the Carabineri. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all but I'm not sure the others are better. I stayed at another one in San Giovanni Rotundo two years ago and it wasn't much better.
