“Beautiful Views of Gatlinburg”
We stayed at the lodge for three days while in Gatlinburg. It was one of the nicest rooms that looked out over the Smoky Mountains. Very beautiful place to get away from everything. A pool would be wonderful here, which I know was mentioned for the future from literature inside the room.
“Great trip”
Private, scenic, comfy rooms, great food!
“Better than the Park”
We selected this hotel based upon reviews and their website, we were not disappointed. The room was great, very comfortable, spacious and well-appointed, even half-and-half for the coffee. The restaurant was very good, we were able to have dinner on the deck next to a roaring fire with no hassles and only great service from the wait staff. This place was so different from the commercialism of Gatlinburg and so peaceful compared to the tourist venues in the Park, it was a great retreat from what we had thought was going to be an escape from crowds and cars. It isn't cheap but the splurge is worth it if you want a comfortable, intimate and well appointed stay. Oh and the lodge atmosphere is great.
“Tucked away in the mountains but not too far from the action”
A wonderful stay to say the least. The service is great in every way possible and the staff is respectful and helpful. It's easy to spend your entire trip in the very well sized suites given all include decks with great views and other amenities. Very quiet. An extra tv in the room would've been nice but just one tv between the bedroom and living room isn't a show stopper. Five nights wasn't long enough. We'll be back!! This place is definitely for you if you desire privacy.
“Fantastic”
We had a glorious weekend. The lodge provided mountain cabin atmosphere, with a touch of class. The little extras that were complimentary were a nice touch. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night. Excellent!
“Quality rustic resort with all the amenities”
The lodge is way, way up above the hustle of Gatlinburg (in fact you will not even know that burg is even there) with a wonderful view of the National Park. Our room had a separate kitchenette (stove, fridge/freezer, sink, microwave, and large countertop), Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and toilet area. The main room had more than enough space, even with a king-size bed, sofa, chair, dining table, coffee table, chest, and built-in gas-log fireplace. We had a lower level room, but it did have a balcony that afforded a wonderful view of the distant mountains. In the evening the staff left a plate of freshly baked cookies on our bed, which was a wonderful surprise upon returning from a day of hiking in the park. The free continental breakfast was usual fair, but without much selection (coffee, juice, cereal). However, there was a quality dining room and cooking staff and you could dine either inside or outside on the balcony. Upscale evening dining was also available. The Lodge at Buckberry Creek is a little hard to find, but worth the extra effort. If you spend any time at all on the main drag in Gatlinburg, you will be glad to get away from all the bustle and hustle and experience more of what staying in the Smokey Mountains should be like.
“Can't Wait to Return”
My family stayed at the Buckberry Lodge during Labor Day Weekend, 2008. Our trip was part vacation and part evacuation from Hurricane Gustav. The lodge was beautiful and the staff was courteous. I highly recommend both the lodge and the restaurant.
“First class in Gatlinburg”
The property is beautiful and so are the rooms. The staff was friendly and personable. We loved every minute of our stay.
“can not wait to go back”
We almost hate telling anyone how wonderful it was and not keep it a secret to ourselves. This was the first time EVER we felt truly welcomed and at home by the staff and even by the fellow travelers. Everyone was pleasant and courteous to each other. The scenery and views are fantastic. The accommodations are fabulous. Lodge suite was perfect with sitting area and fireplace, separate balcony, kitchenette with large refrigerator with complimentary drinks, VERY comfortable bed with freshly baked cookies each night and large bathroom with soaking Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. We cannot even imagine needing the bigger gallery or grand suite. Dinner was delicious as was the complimentary breakfast. We honestly can not wait to go back.
“Beautiful lodge - a wonderful surprise!!!”
Everything about the Lodge at Buckberry Creek was a very pleasant surprise. It is constucted of top quality everything and was a very enjoyable visit - would go back and highly recommend.
