“Nice Black Hills Hotel”
Smaller hotel is well run. Very nice king-sized beds. Modest but nice.
“A plesant place to stay”
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The management was very friendly and the rooms were clean. They offered a continental breakfast of sorts which was more than ample, and the waffles were a nice touch ( you make them yourself ). The only drawback was if the hotel was full, there weren't enough tables to sit at, and they do not want you to bring food back to the rooms. Otherwise, we had no complaints.
“Really nice people”
This isn't the most luxurious place you'll stay, but if you're looking for a clean place to stay in the Black Hills region this is a good place to stay for a reasonable price. We stayed in on of their two-room cabins, and it was perfect for our four-person family. The staff was vary friendly, and even provided an unexpected refund when we were forced to check out a night early to attend to an emergency at home!
“I would definitely stay here again.”
This owner definitely wants his business to succeed and I felt he cared about the quality of our stay. Our only criticism was that the temperature of the room was hard to control.
“Just what I expected”
This isn't a 5-star motel, but it's clean, easy to find and has a good complimentary breakfast. I would definitely use this motel again.
“Could Have Been Better”
The carpet in the room was matted and it wasn't shag -- just too dirty. Not even sure a good cleaning would correct the issue. The Continental Breakfast was mediocre at best. Outside door was in poor condition and did not make us feel secure.
“Small and old but reasonable and clean”
An older, small hotel that has bought into the Best Value franchise. Our room was clean and reasonably sized. Our only complaint is that the beds have become very soft. The place is getting old so the stairs are getting rickety and the caulking is getting worn. One room next to the office was converted to a breakfast room, so it is very small even with 2 rooms' worth of guests at once. The only hot item was a waffle maker and while there was a microwave, all the plates and bowls were styrofoam which I think should not be microwaved. The owner/operator live on premises and is a very cheerful fellow. There are three little standalone cabins at the end of the property which don't seem to be bookable through expedia but they looked relatively new compared to the main building.
“Not Impressed”
On arrival was met by the manager very personable chap who showed me to my room and checked that it was clean and tidy, impressive. Motel it's self is a bit dated and is a bit tierd. Biggest cause for complaint is that my room 211, second floor next to vending area which has a very ancient ice making machine in it. During the long night the machine machine would rumble away however every 20 mins it kicked into high gear, sounded like a foundry going into high production! Spoke to the manager in the morning had a bit of a laugh and then bet a retreat.
“Changed following day reservation”
Old hotel which led to old bathroom. It felt very dirty because nothing had been updated, staff was very friendly so if you can get past the bathroom kids would like the outdoor pool.
“Clean rooms. Friendly employees”
The room was nice. I picked this motel because the price was higher and I thought it should be MUCH BETTER. The breakfast was described as "DELUXE" breakfast. The room had four small tables that, in the very small room, made moving very hard. The orange "DRINK" was not juice. There was one waffle iron that was kept VERY busy. I took my family out to eat elsewhere. In veiw of the breakfast the motel is too pricey. And this was when the motel was less than half full.
