“We would definitely stay here again!”
This was a very nice place to stay. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay, other than staying in a hotel. Nice change. The staff was very nice. The decor was tasteful. The breakfast was very well put together, as well as the afternoon reception.
“Wonderful Experience”
The Babbling Brook is a wonderful inn, with a bed and breakfast feel. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms have a very cozy, old fashioned feel, and the staff bends over backwards to make you feel comfortable and at home. The breakfast is great, even for me, who is allergic to milk, so options are usually limited. My only complaint is that there was a little mold around the tub (great jacuzzi tub), but it definitely added to the 'all natural, homey feel', lol. We will definitely return when we can, it was a wonderful experience for our 10th anniversary.
“This Guy Can Cook”
Cheerful b & b in beautiful Santa Cruz, right on a creek and with redwood trees outside our window - it was nice to find that the "babbling brook" name is factual. The proprietor, Tom, obviously takes great pride in his place. He was super friendly and conscientious. And wow, can he cook; we've truly never had eggs Bendict this good before. I was a teeny bit sad that he apparently uses dryer sheets on the linens, because the bed sheets had that chemical-fabric- softener fragrance (which I know some people love, but I hate) and the towels, though they were thick, fluffy and expensive, were not absorbent, because those dryer sheets make towels not wick water. But the beds were very good. There was some traffic noise, but I think that's pretty much unavoidable in Santa Cruz. All in all a cool place to spend some cozy time and have a great breakfast in the redwoods. A good value for the money, for couples. It's not really a place for kids.
“Perfect romantic stay for any aged couple.”
This place took our breath away, we couldn't stop snapping pictures of the grounds, and the room itself was quiet and comfortable. A great view of the brook and the sound of flowing water was icing on the cake for this marvelous stay.
“Great place with a bad shower.”
One night business stay. The good. Easy parking. Really nice front desk service. Very nice, large room with great sitting area. Clean. Good bed. Quiet. Strong wireless (free) connection. Great alternative to staying in a national branded hotel/motel. The Bad. Almost zero water pressure from the shower and impossible to dial in a constant temperature. It would have been faster to fill up dixie cups and pour them on myself. They posted water conservations signs in the bathroom, but whatever they have done in the showers is not good. Although I was pleased with everything else, this alone is reason for me to not stay again.
