“Go Bears!”
This is an excellent place to stay before any football game. You can walk to the stadium from the hotel. There is an excellent pizza pub right beside the hotel for pre-game tailgating. The double rooms are small. We had 4 adults in a single room, I would recommend sticking to two adults, but on a budget it works. The water was always HOT and the room was serviced in a timely manner. Excellent location.
“Classic hotel in an awesome location!”
We went to Berkeley to see a show and hang out, and this hotel was in the perfect location to walk anywhere on campus or around Telegraph. Hotel was very cozy and had everything you need for comfort. Parking was also available at the hotel! There is a great restaurant below to stroll down and have an awesome lunch or dinner. Will definately stay there again...
“Highly recommend for an affordable price”
This hotel isn't exactly like a hotel. It's more like a motel. The room is okay, but the complimentary breakfast: donuts and coffee, is awesome. Very affordable price for a hotel just 2 minutes walk away from UC Berkeley campus. The other hotels on Durant Ave and Bancroft are way more expensive. So, if you have a tight budget, then this should be the place.
“Unorthodox but good”
An unusual location above an Indian restaurant, and a quiet (i.e. not always staffed) front desk make this an unorthodox experience. At night there is a fair amount of street noise, Durant being one of Berkeley's main hangouts. However, the room I stayed in was large, comfortable and meticulously clean. The high-speed internet access worked perfectly. The hotel staff and management were uniformly friendly and helpful on the few occasions I had to meet them. Moreover, the flipside of having a little street noise is that you're right there in the middle of one of Berkeley's liveliest neighbourhoods. I would definitely go again.
“A good place to stay”
The service was friendly, a little help with luggage would had been appreciated, especially when there is no elevator. the room was clean. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a few steps to Telegraph Ave.
“Stay Here If You Like a Little Character”
This is what you'd call charming. The innkeeper (that's what I'd call him) is great, helpful and friendly. The hotel is right next to UC Berkeley, so the area is very Bohemian, a good place for shopping and eating (though they have plenty of name brand chains if that is your thing). Parking was $10. The room was OK. The furnishings were shabby (not shabby chic), but it was clean and comfortable. If you are like my sister and require the comfort of the large chain hotels, this is not the place for you. But if you like a little character and culture, stay here. And the Indian place in the lobby of the hotel has awesome food.
“Has a B&B feel”
Nice hotel, especially like the blacony overlooking the street, great for 'people-watching'!
“A hidden Jewel”
This charming, ex-sorority house, where you can truly immerse in "college town" spirit. Best of all is the service. Very friendly staff and very reasonable place to grab comfort food type of meal.
“Will Return”
We've stayed at the Beau Sky Hotel before and plan to return again. While not a luxury hotel, the rooms are clean, comfortble, and very close to the UC Berkeley campus. Parking is conveniently located next door for a small fee. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is walking distance to the campus and many eating and shopping establishments. They also have a great Indian restaurant in the front of the hotel. Hotel guests get a discount at this restaurant.
“Great location”
I had a great experience at this hotel. Has a great restaurant and is across the street from a food court that has all different kinds of foods from around the world. Staff was great. The one thing I would recommend to the hotel is they should develop a "water friendly" policy like many other hotels giving you the option to request new linens everyday instead of them changing them everyday.
