Sandcastles Beach Resort Ocho Rios provides complimentary supervised children's activities near the pool and on the beach, with a conference room doubling as a venue for complimentary kids' movies. Entertainment is provided three nights weekly on the pool deck, and a complimentary cocktail reception is offered every Wednesday evening. A hair-braiding cabana is next to the pool.

Sandcastles Beach Resort Ocho Rios offers 174 guest studios and suites in five three-story buildings (no elevators) with interior garden courtyards. All units feature small balconies or patios with garden or ocean views, kitchens or kitchenettes, and dining sets. Ceiling fans and louvered windows offer cooling alternatives to studios and suites' air conditioning. Televisions provide U.S. cable channels. Decor includes tropical furniture, tile floors, and floral fabrics.

Sandcastles Restaurant & Bar - Second-floor, air-conditioned spot with open-air terraces on both sides, one overlooking Ocho Rios' main street, the other overlooking the pool. Black-and-white tile floor. Etched glass panels. Breakfast, lunch buffets daily. Buffet or à la carte menu for dinner.
Poolside Snack Bar - Offers a traditional menu of hamburgers, hotdogs, grilled-cheese sandwiches, and ice-cream. The adjacent bandshell provides live entertainment during some evenings.
The Pub - Lobby bar with televisions.
Recreation
Amenity highlights: A free-form swimming pool roughly measuring 15-by-9-meters (50-by-30-feet) features a 4.7 meter (15-foot) water slide, a semicircular spa tub accommodating 16, a three-foot-deep children's section, and a nine-foot-deep section. Across the street from the resort, Ocho Rios' main beach extends one km (0.75 miles) around a crescent bay, with independent operators on the beach providing a variety of water sports.

“will be back”
The staff is wonderful,very helpful and a wealth of information. Walking distance to everything. We took one taxi only because of the rain. We were lucky enough to meet little Daviel who made us crowns of flowers and drew us pictures (our cheapest and most treasured souvenirs). The beach was nice. Rooms were clean. We will be back.

My stay at Sandcastles was better than expected. This was not my first time to Jamaica so I was looking for an inexpensive, decent resort and this was the place. I was there for vacation and also visited a friend that lives on the island. The room I booked was a one bedroom suite that contained a kitchen, table, and fridge. It was perfect. There is a grocery store up the street and we were able to cook our own meals. There is also a movie theatre in walking distance. While we were there Hurricane Gustav hit and the hotel management kept us informed of everything that was happening. They also gave us candles and matches in case of a power outage. Although the lights flickered on and off the power never went out. I would stay there again!
“Love Sandcastles”
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and love it! The lifeguards are fun and very pleasant, the bartenders are great and the entertainment is awesome. Shortage of towels but not a real problem.

i think sandcastles is a great place to stay if you are on a budget and i personally don't feel that you need to include meals in your stay because there is a tuck shop on property as well KFC, Mothers, BK, Hard Rock, Margaritaville, a supermarket not to mention alot of other places to eat all within walking distance.. the rooms come with a fridge and stove so you can stock up with food and drinks and be alright.. the location of the property is ideal because it is the heart of everything and if you have children there is a turtle park directly across the street which they will enjoy..it is free and has fish as well.. the beach and the pool were clean as well the rooms. security was on the premises and of course any car that came on the compound had to announce their visit to the guard prior to gaining entrance the only concern that i experienced was that when i requested the maintenance man come program the remote for the tv, it took 2 phone calls plus me going downstairs to get it done.. i love this place, have been there 6 times now and will always go back!!! bottom line if you looking for a 5 star resort this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a safe clean inexpensive place to stay, this is perfect!!!!!
“Great resort in Ochi”
Highly recommended resort. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful live music on certain nights of the week. Nice water slide in the pool for the children. I would definately go back there to stay. Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, ATM's, money exchange & postoffice.

I had a studio apt that overlooked the pool. It was absolutely fantastic. The cleaning staff was great and so was the lobby staff
“Very impressed”
I've been to Ocho Rios twice this year and stayed at this hotel both times. Impressed with easy access to beach, food in cafeteria is excellent expecially breakfast buffet (real Jamaican cuisine), Second visit we stayed in Studio and was amazed at the large room and ocean view. Kitchenette in room was convenient for heating up left overs. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to go back.

“Very Nice Hotel, Can't wait to go back”
The Sandcastle is a very nice hotel, very clean and attractive rooms. My only complaint was the bath room which was a bit small and only a shower. I really liked the location especially since they opened a casino right across the street.
