“Great place to stay”
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying here recently. The hotel staff go all-out to make sure that you are enjoying your stay and the surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful that it's too tempting just to hang out at the villa all day instead of seeing what Bali has to offer. It's a little bit out of the way though so you have to drive 30 - 45 minutes to see any of the tourist sites. Overall, a good value!
“A room with a view”
This is the hotel for romantic evenings and just relax. Shops and beaches are half an hour away, so you will either plan things well or just relax with the pool, the spectacular view over the rice fields, and enjoy the good company of your party. Food is not as good as the hotel deserves, is more or less - "easy and standarized hotel food". If you want something of the gastronomic dimensions, you'll need a ride to Seminyak or Legian. I am often a visitor, since I am working nearby and this hotel is the best I have found. And it is small enough so the staff remembers your name! Did I mention the spa? And the museum? Enjoy your stay!
“A pearl in Eden's garden”
I am frequently through Bali due to my work, but this time, we wanted to have a hotel with less business ambience. The hotel is north of Denpasar, but south of Ubud. The place is clean, a garden with beautiful plants and flowers. It has a view over a rice field and it is very quiet, with the sound of ducks, people working in the distance or just natural sounds. The menu is simple but allright, it could though be a little bit more interesting. The room we rented is a "pool villa", which is a simple two floor appartment, with a very small private pool in the front, a nice place to chill when coming back from a shopping day in Ubud. The village of Ubud is in the north of the hotel, approx. 20 minute drive. The hotel is the good place to rest, where you can forget the rest of the world for a good week. Did I mention the nice swimming pool in the common area? And the hotel museum? I was most of all fascinated by the 3 tame hawks parking at the threes of the hotel. It was a little modern Shangri La, with the peace you need. They have an issue with their logistical routines with the laundry, but if you experience a problem, take it up with the manager and they will fix it for you. Internet connection, but dial up from a simple business room/library. Good if you need to check your important e-mails, but come on, you are in Bali!
“pleasant experience”
Very nice, clean and quiet place to stay, friendly staff, the food in hotel restaurant is good but not as good as in Ubud restaurants. The biggest problem of this hotel is that it is Not south Ubud but north Denpasar, the hotel provides free shuttle to Ubud but it`s about 20 minutes by car. No possibility to go for a walk or for dinner out in the evening because the village is very small.
“The room was vey nice, but quality of food was poor.”
Food was not good, but terrace provided a great view of rice field and a river. Alam Puri is very well designed.
“total disappointment”
We checked in the hotel around midnight, the property was so dark, I was acctully scared & wondering what I got myself into by booking with this hotel. After we got into the room, there were big ants on the floor. The breakfast included with the room was ok. However, the people was very frindly and nice.
