“A nice hotel with a great staff.”
The hotel was in great condition and the room was spotless. The staff was VERY helpful and even offered suggestions of things to do in the area with our kids. The covered parking and free wireless internet were surprise bonuses, although the parking deck is only 6' high so tall people and cars, beware. My only gripe is that the beds need to be updated. They were very bouncy and well worn. I will stay there again on my next trip to Reading.
“Great Spot for Business Traveler”
The room was quite comfortable and terrific ammenities including a refrigerator, microwave, and best of all wireless computer connection, without having to ask for them!. A non-allergenic pillow was available in the room, again I appreciated not having to make a call to ask for one. The hotel restaurant service was very accomodating and friendly. The music and atmosphere was relaxing and conducive to continuing work over dinner. I was very satisfied and will surely return if in the area again and recommend the Wyndham readily.
“No better value in the area.”
Full of charm and history this hotel owned by Wydham is a historical site worth staying at for a great value and beats all others in the area.
“Love the feel and setting.”
It's a historic hotel so yes it's old and has that feel, which is exactly what I wanted. The front desk guy could not have been nicer, very quick and friendly. Bed was very comfortable, bottled water in the room, really could not have been better and hated to leave, almost stayed another day but couldn't. Highly recommended and parking they take care of it, though there is a small charge.
“great start to 2009”
the hospitality was great..junior suite was spacious..the gift shop/food store was nice...the receptionist was pleasant...the best part was the late check out..we paid a small addition charge...and stayed until 6pm...well worth it!
“good accomodations”
Didn't look impressive on the outside, but very nice in the inside. Did have a problem with the elevator from the parking lot had to wait and the elevator never came; had to walk to our car 2 levels up. I am disabled so this was a major inconvenieince.
“Best Place to stay in Reading”
This is a great place to stay. The people are friendly and it is centrally located. This was our second stay. The rooms are very confortable and had wireless internet access. We had two rooms, a stting room and a bed room. I highly recomend staying here.
“READINGS BEST WILL BE BACK”
Very nice hotel. Great resteraunt. Great location !!!
“One of the cleanest Hotels we ever stayed”
This is a very old Hotel in downtown Reading that has preserved the glamor of the old times, despite its age. It is spotless in every area of the Hotel including the rooms. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. It's great for a quick meal, but don't expect great service. Go to Western Reading instead (2 minutes away by car) to enjoy the numerous restaurants with side-street seating.
“Very nice hotel”
The Wyndham is a very nice hotel in downtown Reading- only downside is downtown Reading is nothing to write home about. Our sole reason for going to Reading was Daniel Tosh was doing a show at the Sovereign Center which is only a couple of blocks from the hotel. We stayed 3 nights. Reading is 1 hr drive from Philidelphia and 30 mins from Lancaster area where we spent a day on kayaks and golfing. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. We ate dinner at the bar and food was good and reasonable priced. West Reading looks to be a "nicer" area, but since we only use the room to sleep in and spent most of our time out sightseeing, that did not matter as much- close to the Tosh show and price is the reason we choose the hotel and glad we did. Staff was very nice and helpful.
