“Will Be Back”
Every so often one travels to a destination that stays in their hearts and minds long after they leave. When my mind needs to revisit a place of peace and tranquility, with extraordinary beauty and wonderful sea breezes, I will think of Ceiba del Mar. I almost hate to share this slice of heaven. It is a place for those desperately needing downtime. In the four nights we stayed, we never got tired of the menus or eating at the hotel. The morning continental breakfast was delivered to our room by way of a hidden cubby hole, so as not to awaken guests, and was particularly charming and appreciated. The staff was first class and made our stay especially memorable. Our thanks to them all. My husband said he had gotten the best massage ever. We will be back!
“As eve...FANTASTIC!”
We've stayed at Ceiba del Mar 11 times and each has been wonderful. Visit number 12 was no exception. In fact, it was the best time we ever had here. The beauty of the grounds, the friendly and professional service, the ease of access, and drop dead great rooms. Food has always been good, but not great, but the new chef has made terrific improvements. We visit Mexico a lot and tried some new places in the past year but we were really thrilled to be back. Ceiba del Mar is perfection for the traveler looking for a small, quiet boutique hotel. Leave the kids at home and don't expect to party--and please don't tell anyone. Let's keep this extraordinary place to ourselves.
“really good relaxing resort”
travelled all over the world and have been numerous times to mexico and this resort is one of the best. Very good food, expensive if you don't take the meal option. close to puerto morelos, walking along the beach. great staff, friendly and accomodating. no nightlife just a good relaxing place. great place, will return
“Amazing Getaway!”
My husband and I waited nearly 2 years to take our honeymoon and Ceiba Del Mar was a referral from a friend of a friend. We had the TIME OF OUR LIVES at this incredibly beautiful, perfectly situated, luxury accommodation resort. We didn't want to leave and extended our initial reservation from 3 to 7 days. The spa saw us each 4 times! The treatments were dreamy! Yoga in the a.m. on the pier! And EVERYBODY who works there was so pleasant, professional, and accommodating to our every need. The maitre D' customized our dinners to our dietary needs. We LOVED the food! The fresh fruit at the pool! The banana mango smoothies at the jacuzzi! Everything was our favorite! I am telling all my friends to go! Our room was divine! Private jacuzzi and beautiful decor: flat screen tv, 2 bathrms, living room, etc! Just go!!!!!
“We had a fabulous time!”
As you can tell from the review this hotel gets a lot of repeat customers. This was our first visit, but we've now joined the ranks of regulars and will return again. Its just as pretty as the pictures. We used Kinmont transportation shuttle service, they met us at the airport spoke excellent english. The vans were a little older but bad, certainly not any worse than the taxis in my city and theywere only $70USD round trip.
“great stay”
nice getaway, very private and friendly
“Heaven should take notes...”
Ceiba del Mar provided my wife Kathryn and I with a wonderful three nights away from our busy lives. For three weeks since our return, I find myself staring at my screen-saver, wondering why I boarded the plane and left Mexican Heaven behind. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and somehow achieves this without intruding on the intoxicating simplicity of puerto morelos. Leaving the staff proved almost as hard as leaving the resort itself. Javier, Jorge, and Christian truly went above & beyond and we wish we could pack them in our luggage to take care of us on every vacation. We will return to Ceiba, again and again and again.
“Georgous Escape”
Small private location on an isolated stretch of beach. No crowds, no problems. All needs met graciously by unobtrusive staff. This place is clean inside and out. Food drink and service at waterside restaurant deemed excellent by several guests besides ourselves. Main restaurant complaints of poor organization perhaps due to new manager taking over. May have NY reviewer's complaint under control by now. Pricey no doubt. Ground floor rooms give direct access to waterfront if you don't mind a very slight reduction in privacy. A few more water toys would be welcome. Short drive from airport by hotel car. Found this hotel to be perfectly run by a helpful and competent staff. Absolutely nothing to complain about but I am not a nitpicker either. You get a beautiful and serene setting just as the brochures show, no disappointments here. We will be back soon. “Good Hotel, Nice Facilities”
This is a good place to stay rather than Cancun or Playa del Carmen. It's much quieter than either of those places. I had a room on the top level with a good view, but quite a hike up the stairs. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to town. The internet is rather limited with only wireless available in the lobby area, and that being rather slow. There is also a modest business center with about the same service. The service at the hotel was First Class with the staff trying their best to make everyone happy. The grounds are very nice with two pools. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get away from the buzz of Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The Town of Puerto Morelos was a real treat, and a short walk from the hotel down the beach or on the road. You can also bike to town on one of the bikes there. Swiming on any of the beaches around the area can be quite dangerous due to strong currents, and is not recommended.
“The best so far this year”
I have been to Mexico Three times this year and Ceiba Del Mar is the best place I've stayed yet. The location is secluded and quiet nestled in the small town of Puerto Morales and even though it is closer to a larger property you would never know it. The service and ambiance was absolutely 5 star! The food was GREAT despite being all inclusive! There was some construction and repair ongoing on the premisis but it was pretty maintained. I will probably stay there again.
