“Summer fun.”

“Baldpate Inn, Estes Park, CO”

Nice old inn with lots of history. Farther up the road from Estes Park than you think. Nice views.

“disappointed”

This Inn is set on a short gravelroad off Hwy 7 south of Estes Park. We liked the location, the view from the deck is great! It is within walking distance from Lily Lake which makes for a nice walk around the lake befor breakfast or after dinner. The breakfasts are good, if you like breakfast-casseroles. It starts with a servinf of fresch fruit and a muffin, then casserole and a cinnamon roll for desert. This is an old historic Inn and I am shure it was great in it's time. But now it is unkept and run down. Our room ( "Deluxe") was so small, that the double bed was pushed against the wall (and I had to climb over my husband to get out!) and there was no chair to sit on and no place for toilletries. I like woodfloors, but I guess not in an Inn. We could hear our neighbor's every step .(and every word). But maybe that was because of the connecting door between our rooms.There was a big gap under that door and also the door to the hallway, which was never vacuumed the 3 nights we were there. There might be charm in "old" and "historic" but it still should be taken care of and clean.
